Huh.
Being wrapped in a college diploma was a measure of disrespect back in the day? Sounds a bit like what’s coming to our near future, what with colleges being taken over by the asylumites of SJWism.
Worst “find” in history if they actually come up with a 125 y.o. Hitler. Next would be confirmed bones somewhere that could be turned into some kind of shrine by neo-Nazis.
I thought the Russians finally broke down and revealed what they found and tested after some false starts, including a jaw with teeth id’d by dental records.
Ultimately, who cares except the producers of this ‘Reality” show on cable?
I read someplace recently that the largest nationality among Americans is decedents of Germans, even outnumbering decedents of the British. I remember reading about all manner of consternation in 19th Century American because those doggone Germans were speaking in German and reading German language newspapers. They just weren’t assimilating.
The remains of Hitler and Braun were mingled and partly incinerated (but not cremated, gasoline doesn’t burn hot/long enough to turn bone to ash), buried, then disinterred by the Red Army and were examined, the ID verified. The idea was as you said to avoid a marked grave that could become a shrine, but they also had no cremation capacity available, so the remains were reburied in secret. Some months later the remains were exhumed again for further examination. Apparently at that time the cranial fragment (the one that appears to have an bullet hole) and other fragments wound up in Moscow.
Consciousness-raising and consensus-building will always be needed. /s
Definitely. On the 1980 census (I think it was), of residents of MIchigan who actually gave an ethnicity, the largest single group was “German”. One can see it in the surnames, village and town names, and the German-language gravestones.
Thanks for the info.
My pleasure, probably *only* mine. ;’)
You can not trust anything Long John Nebel said, because he was a weretiger, and they never tell the truth.
I *thought* his breath smelled funny...
Great song. Great album.
