Yeah. I saw the Hunchback last night too. Was thinking of her. RIP.

No. That’s Maureen O’Sullivan.

That is Maureen O’ Sullivan with Johnny Weismuller. Maureen O’Hara and Maureen O’Sullivan are often confused. Maureen O’Sullivan was born in Ireland about 12 years before Maureen FitzSimons (Maureen O’Hara’s real name.)

“How could you have had such a wonderful life as me if there wasn't a God directing?”

O’Hara was born August 17, 1920 in Ranelagh, Dublin and went on to become a screen legend in Hollywood. The stunning beauty starred in such classic films as “The Quiet Man,” “How Green Was My Valley,” “Miracle on 34th Street,” and “The Parent Trap.”

God rest her beautiful Irish soul!

I think that among connoisseurs of redheads, Maureen O'Hara must be held in the highest regard as a model specimen! Fiery, feminine, feisty, gentle. My favorite line in "The Quiet Man" is when John Wayne thanks her for doing something and she blushes and becomes suddenly tender, and says, "Not at all!"

Gets me every time -- what a lady!

You can read about her very interesting life in her autobiography, which was published in 2005:

I know a nun who is in the same convent as Maureen O’Hara’s sister. She said Maureen O’Hara would tell anyone that her sister was prettier and a better actress.

“connoisseurs of redheads”

Actually I think that’s actually a logical impossibility. It’s more a case of “Consumed by redheads ;)

FEW actors and actresses have the chemistry Wayne and O'Hara had.

She was one of the few, maybe truly only actress capable of being as much a presence on screen as the Duke.

As much as Duke was larger than life or a force on screen, Maureen was every bit his equal.

First movie I remember her in was At Swords Point. Fell in love with her then and I was only about 18.
There is only 42 years difference between us.
Me being the younger :)

My absolute favorite Duke movie is McLintock.

No one, I mean NO ONE could have pulled off Katherine/Kate the way she did.

Oh, I don’t look forward to telling my husband.

She was such a beautiful lady. May she rest in peace.

Most DEFINETLY Messing has strong resemblances to Maureen.

She just lacks that blaze of fire or mischief.

If I were to be completely honest, I do have an agenda. And that agenda is to do to leftists here what they try to do to America. Marginalize it.

During the height of Romneymainia, there was a group of hardcore bots that went out of their way, as you know, to browbeat anyone standing in the way of the liberal takeover of the gop. We all saw the ‘No matter What’ and ‘lesser evil’ ranting.

Today, several of those people are VERY quiet, only popping up randomly to repeat the same lies they tried fostering on FR 3 years ago. A couple have even admitted they were wrong.

We all pretty much know who those people are. When they pop up fully again over the next year, I can only hope enough people have seen the light with the PP sityation, the IRS stuff, the loss of Iraq, Bhenghazi and the rest, to shout those people down when they once again start making demands that we vote for liberals ‘no matter what’.

The only people that can save us and this country and ourselves FROM OURSELVES is us folks. We are either willing to do it or we aren’t.
