Man vs. Beast. Sometimes the beast wins. I’m okay with that.

Some well-read gunwriter coined the phrase: "Use enough gun."
Oh, and place your shot well. But Col. Cooper need not say the latter...

Am I the only one that is more surprised that a person actually has a gun in Spain?

Here in Florida there are people who hunt them with a knife. The dogs corner them and then they go in and stick the hog.
I bet this guy was doing that.

Sometimes you get the boar sometimes the boar gets you.

I’m guessing that my wife’s facebook will soon have memes congratulating the boar for switching the tables on the hunter.

Reminds me of the old restaurant joke that ends “Sometimes the bull wins”.

What kind of gun was he using is the question. Some kind of pea shooter or low power shotgun?

“The attack happened after the hunter shot the boar, injuring the animal who was then surrounded by his hunting dogs. When he approached the injured beast to finish it off, the boar charged and gored him in the leg. “
That will wake you up.

When I hunted them on a cattle ranch near lake Kissimmee I used a Saiga .308 with 180 grain Remington core lokt soft point, which got the job done. I wouldn’t use a knife either.

Spain has a robust hunting culture, and the Eibar region has some excellent shotgun makers.

Sounds like his femoral artery was punctured.

I can’t imagine not finishing a boar off from a distance. My 1st husband used to hunt them with a .44, and I thought he was insane-but he never got close to one he’d downed until he made damn sure it was dead...
I avoid wild hogs completely-if I see their tracks by the river and on the trails when I hike in the woods, I leave that trail and find another one-which is what I do if I see mountain lion tracks, too-but they are delicious, especially if they have been eating well...
