Ooh, such a burning intellect you have - I’m impressed!

Well, there's a pecking order here, n00b. You don't just "show up" and "dazzle" everyone with your "superior intellect".

It appears, in the first place, that you have a glaring lack of "people skills". Your initial rudedumbpost to Aliska was ample evidence of that particular deficiency.

Shall I continue?

Beware. You might attract the attention of older denizens of Free Republic if you persist in your n00bsnotlyness.

Oh, let me guess - I touched a nerve, eh - your conscience stinging a bit? It’s the “contraception” thing, right? Your “pro-life” as long as you always have recourse and access to birth control, in whatever convenient form.

Oh, no, you’d never consent to, or advise another to have, and “abortion.” No, because that would rip the mask off your pretense. You want to keep up that farcical front of being “pro-life” - as it gets you a big medal on your chest. Well, I hate to deflate your balloon (and your puffed up chest), but most forms of contraception prevent a FERTILIZED egg (newly created human life, that is) from implanting in the uterine wall ... And that is abortion by any other name. Sorry to break that reality to you - palsy.

How long have you been here, young WTFOVR?

And you're passing judgment on veteran FReepers?

My initial impression is that you're a pretentious blowhard.

It's clear that the other actors in this particular dialogue are well-seasoned opponents of the abortion killers.

You, on the other hand, appear to be a posturing buffoon who ignores the facts in order to bolster your attempts to shout down your entirely reasonable fellow freepers.

I really am not impressed about your “pecking order” ... And nothing I have stated is the fruit of some “superior intellect,” as I have not claimed any such advantage. I am stating objective reality.

The lady, Aliska, who is now so much offended, expressed (whether implicit or explicit, I cannot know) that the use condoms (and hence, it may be inferred, any other available method of birth control) as being an acceptable “remedy” to pregnancy. That is the issue I have taken with her.

I am not wanting to insult her intelligence, nor injure her now obvious sensitivities ... But I will not ignore such a blatant contradiction from an individual who claims the mantle of pro-life ... And, please, do not misunderstand - I am NOT challenging her sincerity on whether she is against abortion. I am pointing out the error in her logic.

You, OTOH, are so far off course in your haughty arrogance, presuming upon my motives for giving rebuke, as to be dismissed outright.

By your measure (a small one at that) only “seasoned” FReepers are to be given consideration in their arguments - to which I reply thart it is you who ought wear the badge of “self important SNOB!”

I am not trying to do any such thing! I am criticizing the logical disconnect in the argument that a “pro life” individual believes that “a condom” (birth control) is a remedy to pregnancy. Apparently, in your “defense of the FR pecking order,” you are willing to overlook the correctness of that position. Is “protocol” so important to you that you would ignore a salient point when made?

You are amusing, I can say that for you.

Not sure where you get your sense of superiority from, though.

Maybe it was on sale at Walmart last week...

So then, you cannot answer my question of fact - but rather prefer an asinine juvenile attempt at levity.

Which of course tells me that you have no reasoned response, because you cannot formulate a counter assertion to my argument.

So be it. Thank you for demonstrating your “superior intellect.”

I admit that I'm slightly impressed that you "appear" to know what "salient" means.

As for the rest - why do you persist in placing words in the mouths of your self-chosen thread adversaries?

Exactly, where have I committed such placing of “words?”

Moreover, where do you get off with this ridiculous assertion that I consider you or any other who asserts themselves as “pro-life” to be my “adversary?”

Should I just bow down and kiss your butt b/c you hold some virtual seniority on FR? (And you think me the pompous one!)

Yeah, you're "right" - a Freeper that's been on Free Republic for 16 years more than you have is "juvenile".

I would wager that I'm 20 years your senior, junior

Which of course tells me that you have no reasoned response, because you cannot formulate a counter assertion to my argument.

There is always the alternate - that there is no reason to respond to the shrieking of offended children. that being YOU, of course...

Blah-blah-blah ... Pull the lever for Jeb, then - or Miss “we should attack Russia” FioRINO, or have an orgasm over 5% Ted Cruz.

So, your response is the RINO war cry: He can win!

That kind of thinking gave California Schwarzenegger, when Gallup showed that a conservative would have won that race if Republicans had voted their preferences.

You go ahead and ride whatever “also ran” horse floats your boat. I am going to wait and see how the primaries go...

Earth to moron: you assume I have picked a candidate. I have not. What I don't want is desperate lemmings following an obvious fraud.

For now, just because it pisses of the establishment hacks and the media, I’m supporting Mr. Trump ...

The media LOVE Trump; else, he would never get the air time he does. It's Cruz they hate. Carson too.

1.) I have been a reader of Free Republic since 1997. The date of SUBSCRIPTION does NOT necessarily indicate the date of INTEREST.

2.) I am 55 years old, college educated, a licensed professional, a practicing tradesman, and hardly a junior, sir.

3.) I am neither offended, nor “shrieking” - BTW, how does one “shriek” (a vocal expression) on a written forum?

If Ted Cruz is so fantastic, then why is he not pulling a stronger showing in the polls - every poll?

Earth to moron? Right back at you ... WTF makes you think I have settled on a candidate? Did I not assert the exact opposite?

I really do not give a crap about who the MSM hates of fawns over ... the fact that Trump is EXPOSING the establishment cronies for the lying pricks they truly are is the one service I admire Trump for providing.

BTW, I do not suppose you have a problem with Heidi Cruz and her association with what is perhaps the most corrupt financial entity in history - Goldman Sachs? Oh, yes, I am aware that Mrs. Cruz took a “leave of absence” from GS ... Why? To stave off any accusation of undue influence? Is such influence not present while she held the position of Houston CEO for GS, and Ted acted in his capacity as a sitting U.S. Senator - a position from which he could cast votes on matters of banking and finance?

I accidentally copied and pasted the last sentence onto my long post. I didn't mean to provoke again.

Thank you for being kind.

I looked up if condoms prevent pregnancy and STD's. Some experts claim they do, with risks, of course. Do I like them? No. Would I personally approve the use of them in some cases? Probably I would. I never approved my children using birth control when the schools steered them to it without my permission. But I certainly didn't approve of them fornicating either. And then there were unplanned pregnancies and a whole host of other problems,

I don't think people who are fortunate enough to have been spared what some of us have been through have a right to be so judgemental on others. As they judge others, they will be judged. Every word that comes our of our mouths will be subject to judgement. Presumably every word written will be so also.

I can't begin to express how IMPRESSED I am. :)

Now, if you will leave off assailing Aliska and her mates on your truly Quixotic quest, I just might assist you in squelching the TDS maunderings of Carrie_Okie.

I have some experience in these things. **grin**

No provocation was perceived.

I doubt that The Christ loses any sleep over these small questions. His intent has been apparent for many millenia.

Oh, for Pete’s sake ...

My PROFOUND and SINCERE APOLOGIES to Miss Aliska - and to anybody else I have so terribly “abused!”

And, BTW, you have not experienced my “assailing” mode ... You do not ever want to - It’s a very ugly thing.

I’ve even been accused of “being to the right of Attila the Hun” - but I have no clue as to why anybody would have that impression of me - honest.

I believe that He is more merciful than some of us are with our fellow mortals. There's not a whole lot the poster says that I disagree with but the manner of expressing it. If I err, God will find a more loving manner of re-educating me.

It appears there is a bigger picture. I'm trying to not being so hard on certain others myself. I was supposed to be subject to a husband who taught me about condoms and committing sins but I bore responsibility for it, too, because I gave in or consented under duress and the natural urge which I didn't know how to fight. And it doesn't mean I don't know better now. I was advised to get my tubes tied, and I said no. So the doctor snidely said to me, "Don't come to me if you get pregnant." Then and there ended my sex life; I slipped one time after that. But it didn't stop my daughters from getting their tubes tied. I didn't like it but they were adults.

And I used forms of birth control I now realize could have caused a fertilized embryo to fail to implant. There were other forms. I didn't know nor believe there was anything wrong with it as long as I was married, and I wasn't catholic, but what if I had been? So I have had a lot of guilt over it and confessed it all to various priests as it came to my memory. But it never made me feel any better about any of it, just more guilt and shame at telling a man such intimate things even though they are used to it..

Now I would never advocate any form of birth control that causes a fertilized egg to fail to implant or cause an implanted egg to abort, nor would I advise others to do so.

But if I knew then that my daughter was going to take up with the alcoholic, heroin-addicted black man from Chicago 10 years ago, I would have begged her to at least try to get him to use a condom or use something herself and, of course, not to have sex with him. He died of an alcohol and heroin overdose, and she has a learning disabled bi-racial son to raise by herself. He impregnated many other women, I derisively referred it once to a doctor as scattering his sperm, and was never financially or responsible in any way including my daughter.

After he died I think a little over a year ago, she tried to get social security survivor's benefits for her son as she had for her daughter years before whose young father committed suicide. He had never worked enough quarters for any social security. He told her he had been a gang member when he was younger in Chicago and killed a lot of people.

Every night of my life when I go to bed, I try to pray for various people, but I cannot understand how she could have done what she did. She wanted to get an abortion at first. I was so upset she was pregnant with no husband again, but I found myself telling her that the child is innocent; it wouldn't be right to kill it (we didn't know the sex).

Then when my son killed himself, he left his sisters $1.5 mil in life ins, and there was a long court battle over his changing the beneficiary of his wife who was cheating on him with his best friend and business partner of many years. My daughters won the case, and we got a big chunk put in trust until the age of 25 for his two biological sons with their mothers having no control over it. The lawyers got the rest.

So now his little son who was three at the time has a half sister by the man and mother my son killed himself over. I know life can hand you some real hard situations to cope with. And I have not been able to find the strength or grace to forgive all the people involved including my neighbor who informed me 2 nights after the police came to tell me what happened (I knew it was coming and didn't know how to stop him) that my son was in hell. Not going to hell. In hell.

Even if I believed that, I could never say to a bereaved person such a terrible thing. The things even people who claim to be Christians do to each other just boggle the mind sometimes.

Thank you for your kindness and listening. And none of it is an excuse for sinning. But I said what I said and mean what I said and know with God there are no excuses.
