The public schools here in NJ are still closed around the Christian holidays (with generic secular names); we could easily end up in a situation where winter break is moved into January and the spring break is moved away from Easter (which thankfully is always on a Sunday).
The Muslim swine might not realize it, but usually the closings on those days are because of the TEACHERS’ religions, not the students (where too many teachers would use personal days). A friend who taught in East Orange NJ (along the Newark Welfare Reservation’s border) had the Jewish holidays off, and that district hadn’t seen Jewish students in DECADES. They still had some Jewish teachers, though; that was the reason for the holidays.
No, but they should offer free ham and cheese sandwiches on those days.
I’m sure they will, even should it take a bomb threat from some unscrupulous person.
Note that I ***AM NOT*** advocating such.
And what Jewish holidays are they closed, which I assume is far greater than the 2% who self identify as Muslim?
Ahh, right, it has nothing to do with Christian holidays nor religious holidays at all - it has everything to do with appeasing the Muslim minority. Here's the trick, schools - exactly which branch of the Muslim religion are you going to appease, because if you make the wrong choice, the other branches will attack you for it.
Vegetables should have green beans with bacon bits, mashed potatoes with bacon bits and chives, corn buttered with small amount of bacon drippings....creamed peas with bacon dripping country gravy, carrots with bacon strips...
Biscuits should have cheese and bacon bits inside, buttered down, home made bread should be slattered in bacon drippings...
That should just about do it for muslim foods...
Government schools should be abolished.

I don’t recall Jews asking for this special treatment.
In fact, the Jewish kids in my school always got their work ahead of time and turned it all in before their High Holidays, and would generally cram the tests in the day before or during lunch or after school.
But I guess muslims are “special.”
Christmas? Easter? Come on now! The first is a mid winter federal recognized break to take in New Years Day as most people are going places then, and EASTER is Always on the Weekend when schools are closed!
Other than teacher’s meetings I cannot remember when the schools closed down except for bad weather.
But of course, that is not what Islam is about. Islam means submission.
