1) no obstruction. Wells has conceded that Brady fully answered all of their questions. Brady did destroy a cell phone that the NFL emphatically said they didn’t want.
2) there were two investigations - sort of. The Wells investigation was announced as independent, but wasn’t...even a little, apparently. When Goodell heard the appeal, after (according to the last of the ever-changing pleadings) having issued the penalty. The released transcript shows he was, even at that late state, unfamiliar with major parts of the issues. Goodell then issued an appeal ruling with a series of definitive statements which turned out to be unequivocally false.
3) per the released figures, only one ball was as much as 2 PSI low, and that one only if you measure with the wrong gauge. The “11 of 12” leak has been attributed to NFL officials at the heart of this, and was left out there for months uncorrected, and with the Patriots prohibited by the league from telling anyone.
4) the Patriots discovered and submitted to the NFL video of McNally walking right past league officials, and going into the bathroom for about a minute and a half. Given that they are only talking about a couple tenths of a pSI, it is exceedingly unlikely that even if McNally could have done so in that brief amount of time that he would have bothered to do so little.
Keyed is a New England sports reporter. The guy he is quoting is not.
It is absolutely obvious you have NOT read the NFL response to Brady’s appeal and I suggest you do so before commenting further. People have been put to death in capital murder cases on less circumstantial evidence than what is available here.
I am truly mystified and amazed by comments such as yours that equate a sports game and possible malfeasance to murder. Really... take a deep breath and let it go... it is a freaking GAME played for ENTERTAINMENT purposes.

Apologies for double post...
All red herrings. The findings were that More than likely than not was aware
Of the tampering and given the great preponderance of supporting data the conclusion drawn by the NFL is valid.
Pat’s fans understandably will look for anything in these reports to excuse the behavior of Brady but it is far, far to late for Brady to salvage his reputation.
His reputation? How about yours. I don’t give a fig about Brady, but who are you to judge another man’s reputation based on talk and innuendo?
I am an NFL fan who has read thoroughly ALL the documentation available, something you obviously have not done.
It is my belief along with 70% or so of all NFL fans that based on the evidence Brady is guilty. Believe what you want but Beady’s reputation and credibility are shot, forever.
For those of us on the fringe of sports you look like a fanatic and you take the enjoyment out of the games. Prissy pretending to macho sports guys and whining all the way. Growing up in the 50’s and 60’s... more than this was happening and they weren’t running whining to the courts to get even... they got even on the field.
...and the fans ate it up!
Brady is being punished because he’s white.
Lol, listen up dude or dudette, it was Brady who ran to the courts, not the NFL.
I am a long time fan and so what if I am enthusiastic? For the record I would be TOTALLY DISGUSTED and ashamed if my team were the constant source of attention as are the Pats and Brady.
Without integrity the entire sports world crumbles and that is the reason the league officials work so hard to see it is maintained.
Probably so, but it is still a game.. it is entertainment that takes itself way to seriously. I remember hating SF as a kid because it was SF and that was not us... came to realize I could give a rat’s behind... it is a game. Focus on what the moveforward, change.org, progressive, socialist, communist, crony capitalists are doing to our country... and when you are done helping the conservative cause.. put your feet up and watch a football, baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey or what the heck ever sports competition....priorities people.
He “ran” to the courts to protect his earnings as he should. You and those who seek stoning and punishment are not content with the verdict... get over it. It is a GAME... it does not affect your life. I realize you hate Brady, but he is of no consequence to you personally. Truly... people who freak on this stuff need counseling.
by the way.. not a “dude” or a “dudette” insulting monikers.. on this forum I am antceecee.. name given to me by my Grand Nephew.... a respectful young man.
Disrespect? Only in your mind would the term dude be thought of as disrespectful.
Pompous, judgmental and convinced, that’s you “antcecee”
Sorry to see this pitiful response from you. Truly thought you would get it and step up. Hope you can get some help for your sports-rage.... ; )
The Judge is pointing out issues both sides have in the positions they are presenting. He is trying to get the parties to settle what is by most accounts a childish argument. The Judge has also advised it could take years to settle and drag all the dirty laundry out of their respective closets which the Judge will make public as he did with the appeal transcript.
In the end, the question before the judge to rule on has nothing to do with whether Brady is innocent or guilty of tampering with game balls. The legal question before the judge is whether or not Goodell violated the terms of the CBA in administering the fines for Brady. On that, the NFL has a strong, likely winnable case. The integrity of the game and conduct detrimental to the league provisions of the agreement are as widely interpretable as a Bill Clinton deposition.
The NFLPA, which is representing Brady, negotiated and signed the CBA with Robert Kraft playing the role of lead negotiator for the owners. Just another case of both sides trying to be a league or not, a union or not, as it suits their collective or individual interest at the moment.
In the end, common sense suggests both sides guilty of crapping in their own nest.
The report SAID it was more likely than not. Reading the reports themselves, they show only that it is at best PLAUSIBLE that it happened if you make several assumptions for which the MFL has admitted there is no direct evidence, and a couple which have been shown to be wrong.
As for “Generally aware”, that itself is a red herring. If that was a standard they would have suspended the entire Saints defense in Bountygate, rather than just those purported to be involved. What it was, was grasping at straws and creating a ridiculously low bar for evidence - or assumption.
