You’re doing it again. Also are you saying the rnc is not trying to torpedo trump?
CRUZ/TRUMP !
TRUMP/CRUZ !
“Which brings me to this point. If Trump is the liberal that you guys keep saying he is, the proverbial wolf in sheep’s clothing, then why are the media and establishment so hell-bent on destroying him? If Trump was truly in cahoots with the establishment, they would be cheering Trump on.”
Excellent question. This gets right to the point.
Trump has zero Reaganesque qualities; that truly is an insult to Reagan.
Did PT Barnum have Reaganesque qualities?
Please, please, please show me where Trump has EVER spoken more than three sentences together which proves to you he understands let alone believes in constitutional government.
Do I really have to show you Reagan’s as a comparison?
Trump throws stuff out there. That is his schtick.
What do you think, that someone who says he agrees with you on a controversial issue actually believes in that issue?
Or does he see very clearly the psychological relief he is providing you as chump bait to buy his product (which could very well be Hillary)?
And do you see how he has manipulated you so easily? He has convinced you that Cruz is a loser.
The media laughs about Trump. They understand that their darling weakling loser Bush (the DoleMcCainRomney) might well not get the nomination, and that brilliant appealing actual conservatives (chiefly Cruz) have a shot. They know actual conservatism can win in this country.
Of course the establishment wants Bush. He is their darling weakling loser. And just like the media, they want their darling weakling loser too, so an actual conservative does not win.
The establishment would rather see their weakling lose than Cruz win. But they want the loser to be their loser, not Hillary’s loser. They see what is happening.
Trump’s chumps. Sorry, but it is true.
With a brilliant, genuine, anti-establishment conservative in the race, Trump has the bamboozled conservatives into having a negative block toward the actual conservative (”he can’t win, let’s give up, let’s support Barnum not Reagan) in favor of the guy who might very well be there for the sake of Hillary.
Trump has turned many conservatives into Bushy, Doley, Romney like losers.
Jeff, I'm going to type reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaal slooooooooooooooooow for you so you can maybe...and I stress MAYBE.....comprehend. I have never said the RNC - or more to the point, the GOP establishment, is not trying to torpedo Trump. They are. HOWEVER - and you must pay close attention here because this is where your F in logic is showing...........however......Trump is not the only anti establishment candidate in the race, and not the only one the establishment would like to torpedo. There is someone in the race who's been fighting the GOP E FAR FAR FAR longer than Trump has even been thinking about being conservative. DUH.
I'm still not sure I got down to your level. Get it now?
You need to go see a doctor about your pretty nauseating man crush.
Trump, the “great conservative” from today’s Sunday shows:
-Is “fine” with affirmative action. “We’ve lived with it for a long time. And I lived with it for a long time. And I’ve had great relationships with lots of people. So I’m fine with it.”
-Doesn’t think a private company should be able to fire an employee for being gay.
-Wants to keep the minimum wage at current levels. “
Damn near a Reagan clone......LOL
You say that the media "laughs about Trump." Well they laughed at Ronald Reagan, Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz too. So why are you now using that as a reason to discredit Trump? If anything, the media derision should prove Trump's bona fides.
Your attempt to win us over by calling us "Trump Chumps" is not very effective.
Unfortunately, the combined communist machinery of the media, the GOPe, and the Democrats fully intended, and would have succeeded, in shredding Ted Cruz until his funds were depleted and his public image was hopelessly (and wrongfully) destroyed. This is the Alinsky way. This is what has happened to every non-uni-party candidate that has threatened the status quo since Reagan. One at a time.
13.Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. The low information conservatives ... apparently have not noticed that Cruz is NOT attacking Trump, as are all the establishment candidates. Why would that be? Trump is not attacking Cruz. Why would that be?
Obviously Cruz does not consider Trump the opposition. Maybe our "low information conservatives" should get a clue from the interactions between the candidates, from their public statements about each other, from their common alliances with other conservatives outside their campaigns, etc. There have been no swipes at all between Trump, Cruz, or Carson, toward each other, about anything. Those three are focused on the enemy; not on each other.
On D-Day, Ike did not wade ashore all alone, and personally slug it out with Adolph. He had multiple fronts of attacks, multiple generals leading those attacks, each with massive manpower for each front. Some of the fronts were fakes and feints (South of France), or ancillary/covert (Balkans). Some were dropped behind enemy lines (the 101st Airborne drops). Some were big and bold (Normandy beaches). All were necessary. The overall objective was to overcome and defeat a heavily entrenched NAZI-controlled Fortress Europe.
"Low information conservatives" are the ones who think this is a sporting competition. It is not. Politics is war by other means. And this one is just as important as saving Europe; maybe even more important for the here and now.
Fortitude North and South constituted the main portion of the overall Bodyguard deception
“Notice how Cruz refrains from saying anything bad about Trump and vice versa. Maybe you should to take a hint from them.”
YES! I have noticed how wisely Cruz has handled the Trump situation. Cruz has said exactly what I would want my presidential candidate to say about Trump. That is one of many reasons I think Cruz has a great Reaganesque chance to become president.
But I am not running for president. Trump is, and yet he says really stupid things about a lot of people. Not just stupid things, but stupid things which are stupidly harmful in a political way.
Look at those things he says, they are vile and hateful. NOT politically incorrect, vile and hateful, unChristian.
These are signs of a weak man with a weak intellect, someone who has never struggled with actual adversity in his life. As for actual adversity, Trump lets his lawyers handle it.
“Your attempt to win us over by calling us “Trump Chumps” is not very effective.”
I made a post earlier which linked to a Free Republic thread from four years ago. My post was pulled.
I do not know why, but it is not my site and I respect the moderators for doing what they think is right. I have no complaints.
But the Free Republic thread from four years ago was quite definite. Folks understood very clearly what a dangerous phony Trump was. They even ridiculed the Trump supporters as chumps. You can find the thread by doing a search.
On the thread, Mark Levin was linked and gave a brilliant analysis why only a chump conservative would go for Trump. The facts have not changed.
SORRY, I am wrong. The facts have changed. Now we have a brilliant, witty, highly principled man of extraordinary integrity and amazing ability running for president.
But Trump has beclouded too many conservative minds to see that clearly. His presence with all his football strutting style conservative word-shouting has created a situation where even conservatives think the brilliant, witty, human, highly electable conservative doesn’t have a chance.
Better to go with the trash talker who became one of us seventeen minutes ago! Right? Defend him, cheer him, let the rest of the world know, the conservative pov likes people being called pigs, dogs, losers, weak minded, ugly, garbage. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
I am not trying to win any chump over. Trump does that.
I am simply not going to be politically correct.
Cruz isn’t going to win, trump can and you’re coming off as a massive dick.
In fact, two months ago, I wasn't fond of Trump (at least as a presidential candidate). I also saw him as another Sarah Palin with regard to getting into the race. Always teasing us he might run but never quite doing it.
But now he has his hat in the ring and I've earned quite a bit of respect for what he has done since. I'm willing to forgive him his past transgressions and give him a look.
Still way too soon to say how I'll vote when my primary comes up in April (Connecticut). More than half a year away! A lot will happen between now and then so I'm going to see how things play out. Also I'm paying a lot of attention to Ted Cruz.
First of all little jeffie, you don't know that Cruz is not going to win. You're scoreboard gazing and we're not even beyond batting practice yet. And on your second point, well, yeah, what can I say.
The problem with Donald Trump is that 25% of conservatives is his peak and is unlikely to ever get more than a few percentage points more.
He’s a revenge candidate and the remaining 75% of us are sick to death of angry politics and would actually like to see someone like Reagan who put the good of the country above punishing the opposition.
Ted Cruz isn’t unnecessarily snarky or nasty. Its why he can go into the Iowa AG summit, tell them he wants to take their subsidies away and still garner their support. Libertarians are increasingly turning to Cruz as an alternative to Paul because Cruz is a big 10th amendment supporter and takes a much more thoughtful approach to foreign policy and restraint in military actions. Rather than wild sweeping border control plans that will never get past congress, he starts with enforcement of existing law and works from there. Despite the animosity between congressional leadership, I believe a President Ted Cruz would still be able to work with congress even if it means sidestepping Boehner and McConnell.
Trump is slipping a point or 2 per week as Cruz is gaining a point or 2 per week. A lot of my friends on twitter who don’t love either are openly saying that they would support Cruz over Trump if that’s what it comes down to. These are people who currently support Perry, Paul, Walker and Fiorina for the most part.
It’s pretty simple: Had the GOP done their job with the two landslides we delivered for them, there would be no Donald Trump, or Ted Cruz, or Ben Carson (or probably Bernie Sanders).
They haven’t. Sessions and Cruz have been fighting the establishment, which is why Cruz has a chance.
Trump? All he did was run a business until the country he was running it in was on the brink of going down the drain. Now all he’s doing is saying what everyone - ON BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE - are thinking. You know how many union presidents are secretly loving Trump’s immigration plan?
Now it's time to turn to the outside, even if it is to somebody that is unproven and unvetted with regard to politics.
