“I Will Not Allow Ford To Move To Mexico”

Way, way too late, The Donald. My late 1992 Ford Escort was “Hecho in Hermosilla”.

They move because unions (Trump loves unions) and the cost of government (special deals, favors, bailouts - Trump loves thoe too) and the idiocy of giving hostile countries like China trade preferences.

The union thing is greatly exaggerated. Textiles, furniture and other light manufacturing were some of the first plants to leave the US and most were non-union.

We need a president who will begin to reverse some of this and Trump is the only serious contender making it an issue. Most of the others would just continue the same with TPP and the other new agreements being negotiated, continuing all the negative trends.

Building cars in Mexico only saves a few hundred dollars per car. This production cost savings is not passed on the the consumer. It goes to the bottom line and the dividends on their common stock.

Lower prices helps the middle class and the poor, and helps increase the standard of living for the average wage earner.

Not when thousands of plants and millions of manufacturing jobs have left the US for the same reasons Ford wants to build more plants in Mexico.

The real result is record real unemployment, record food stamps, 1 in 5 US heads of household on one or more government poverty programs, diminishing opportunity and diminishing incomes for the lower and middle classes and an $18.5 million national debt and growing.

The supposed benefits of lower prices (if there are any) is a myth when the opportunities for decent paying jobs continue to decrease for millions of Americans.

I guess “The Donald” is really is the voice of God as someone here was trying to tell me the other day.

Thou shalt not move your business from this country.

Most of the things that Trump is proposing he can’t legally do.

Watching some Conservatives drool over him is bizarre.

Trump’s popularity is largely because he refuses to cut and run in the face of the typical MSM onslaught.

I think most will agree that in itself is admirable.

Watching Conservatives drool over a manufacture abusing NAFTA and moving a factory to a narco state is bizarre also.

Like I said, he will say anything.
He will probably get elected too.

Here is a way more serious issue, my house while not made in Mexico, was built by Mexicans.

I bought it and watched it being built, and that was 2003.

I think Trump and all the candidates should just stick to that angle.

I thought Trump was the guy who said it like it was. Instead of saying what you think he meant, why not assume he meant what he said - he would not allow it, the deal would not be approved. He said nothing about incentives, he said he would disallow it.

You’re annoyed that your house was built by Mexicans, but only in retrospect?

“why not assume he meant what he said”

Okay. Or, maybe someone, from our explarary media, or perhap one the other stalwart candidtes, could simply ask him to clarify what he meant?

No, he is for repealing those regulations and cutting corporate taxes to zero for those companies that move back.

He is talking about the need to remove those regulations in the book I am reading now, “Time To Get Tough”. He also wants to cut corporate taxes to zero for companies returning to the U.S.

Watching some Conservatives drool over him is bizarre.

I am LMAO, and have never said that before, listening to him. When he first started talking about the wall and then saying Mexico will pay for it. Oh, my word. Not just because its sounds crazy but why not? Why are we ALLOWING, fascilitating even, illegals to flood our borders?
We have got to be in control of who comes and who goes or we are screwed!
All we have gotten to this point is TALK. Actually, lies. The people are repeatedly against amnesty and yet OUR humble “representatives” keep pushing it on us?
Why not do it legally?
Is it not true China is kicking our can?
Is it not true Mexico is playing us?
Is our economy a mess?
Is the houseing market stagnent?
Is employment stagnent?

We are unable to get someone elected who, to date, is willing, or able?, to FIXED THE PROBLEM.
No, Candidate bar Cruz sounds like they will honestly do anything about the mess our country is in?
But unless Cruz can get his numbers up i will take my chance on a wild card.
Its Cruz or Trump or American can not be saved.
LMAO but also discusted how we have been played. And now i am suppose to take these A_holes seriously?

No, I was pointing back at immigration as an obvious issue, and it has been for quite some time.
In retrospect it was just an ‘obvious man’ post.
Never mind.

RE: Worked really well up to 1970.

The USA had very few competition the first generation after World War II.

And there was no law that I remembered NOT ALLOWING American companies to move operations overseas.
