“They say there is a big update coming in October so maybe after that.”
Maybe they should have released a stable O/S in October instead of July?
Just did it on my win 7 machine....I wish I had known about this much earlier...would had saved a lot of time and open windows..lol
ops.....what kind of computer are you wanting to update?
The OS is stable on most machines...especially the newer ones..it seems..
Again, MS deals with every conceivable program, gadget, add-on, monitor, vid card, (not need to continue but you get what I mean.
My take is the first release will be fine on most late model computers. it’s the older stuff that is always the problem with any MS update.
For example, my old dell (originally came with vista) did not like the update and the update (10) did not like my dell...
So I took it off, and reinstalled 7. I will not be trying it again because I know what the problem is...It’s my cards and other add ons..
Not a big deal...but my laptop...(about 3 years old) took to 10 like it was married to it for 30 years..
I've not had any crashes or freezes on the O.S. The software I use all works with 10.
I use a USB hub to drive my printer, external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I had to download a driver for that usb hub. And that's it. Wired printer and wireless 4 in 1 printer worked native.
I just don't really have any complaints. I think its a pretty slick U.I.
If you really want aggravation try installing Exchange. A fresh computer, fresh OS install, and Exchange will rarely not fail to install. If you call Microsoft prepare for foreigners that barely speak English, follow a useless script, and not actually solve the problem. I’ve known many people that have taken months to get an Exchange install to work if they ever actually succeeded. For even better laughs try migrating public folders from Exchange to Office 365. Microsoft actually has no idea how to make that work.
“I just need MS Office products and email and I am good to go.”
I’m holding on to my MS Office 2003 like Grim Death. If we need to go to Windows 10 from 7, I’m hoping it’ll be compatible.
