Wife and I, both retired, see them congregated outside the local designer coffee shop when we go shopping, most of them on their cell phones. Their parents don’t want them at their homes during what was the work day.
I saw quite a few like that over the 37 years I spent with the organization I worked for.
The last 15 years I was the department supervisor, one of the greatest pleasures I ever had was cleaning all the LOWLIFES and DEADWOOD out of the shops.
The easiest ones were the probationary turds that Classified Personnel would send to me.
6 month probationary period? You could tell in 10 days whether or not the maggot was salvageable.
I know it sounds tough; and all the admin people told me I was really mean, I would just remind them that all of us were paid by the tax payer, including me.
I didn’t need assholes feeding at the public trough and producing nothing, WORK and earn your pay or GET OUT!
I feel your pain. I remind my bosses that we’re spending tithe payers’ money but it falls on deaf ears. Sometimes churches are as much to blame for creating freeloaders and momma’s boys as governments are.
Hope it work. Most jobs are fake or EEO backscatter. Lots of nonsense and a major waste of time. Virtually impossible to speak to anyone who really has the ability to do anything.
Lotsa fake jobs on Craighslist. Almost never give a company name.
Lotsa fake recruiters too, with “companies” that you’ve never heard of. Just somebody seeing if they can sell someone else.
I haven’t seen anything of serious value. Most of it is bizarre niche work or has crazy unrealistic expectations.
s/b “Hope it works”.
Last place I was at, they had a mess they had created over a 40-45-year-period. And wanted somebody to figure it all out and fix it in just a very few months.
Well, gee, I want to win Powerball. About the same odds.
It is certainly a factory job as a machine operator and a trained monkey can do it, but for my circumstances it would be perfect.
I met the CFO when i was flying drones at the local UAV club and while we talked he mentioned that they had a hard time getting people to work second and third shits as most of the guys they hired under the age of forty didn't want to work. He said they constantly are late, call in sick and refuse to wear their safety equipment like steel toed shoes and eye protection. Well, I am NOT under forty and have no issues with showing up on time and not calling in sick unless darn near dead.
Best part is that it is only five miles and less than ten minutes from my house.
Good luck.
There are still factories in the USA? Well, very few.
I know I was shocked myself.
wow!
more of those budding shoots from the ever expanding Obama recovery economy!
People were sold a bill of goods that said it was wise to wait to get married until your thirties.
Well guess what? Snooze, you lose. You get there and you find the top picks are taken, and you’re stuck with the scraps.
Finding a partner should be a satisficing, not a maximizing decision. You find one that’s good enough, commit, and make it work. You wait trying to find Mr./Mrs. Perfect, it ain’t gonna happen.

When women move into a profession, men leave.
Who can blame them.
do you blame them given the current culture?
the courts are worse today. there is no upside for men.
I believe it. Gal I’ve known for decades told me she watched 3 coworkers, same office, set up their bosses for sexual harassment lawsuits.
The way she said it, it appeared all got paid.
Heh. We’ve convinced the women to work.
Do you ever get the feeling that you’re being recruited because the staffing company expects you to help them do their jobs and not necessarily to help get you a job?
I’ve told a couple of them off when they’re like ‘Hey, pass this on for money’.
I told them ‘I am not doing your job - my email address is not a marketing tool. If you have a job for *me*, contact *me*, otherwise don’t spam me and don’t waste my time.’
You want me to work your recruiting efforts, then it’s a paycheck each and every week. That’s how this thing works.
I went to a job fair down near Houston a couple years ago at my church (big, big church). While I’m there, I see a “staffing” place that I had been too the very first week I hit town. Went down, filled out all the papers, watched their idiotic videos.
So, I go to their booth, and ask if they have jobs for a college-educated, drug free person willing to work any shift. Of course, they have lots and lots of jobs.
So I ask, how is it I filled out all your forms months ago and haven’t heard a single phone call nor an email for a job? Shocked they were, I tell ya, shocked. Call me in the morning says one gal - gives me her business card.
So I call the next day - she promises action. I have left the state by now, but my cell phone never rang over the next 15 months from them nor have I ever received one email.
These people are a complete waste of time. I’ve contacted more than one.
