I made a simple little post...a simple little point.
I didn't intend to get into a screaming match about Trump's aptitude for presidential leadership...I just offered a small opinion on the efficacy of complaining about his political contributions.
Sheesh.
That left wing front group is owned by the St pete slimes a farrrrrrrr left wing DNC front group ,
Your getting desperate in Jeb bot world.
The poster is a fraud and no conservative.
Ignore the creep.
Thx Burt. Will do.
Let me say this about that - the darned Republicans now in Congress are more Ds than Rs anyway, so, why pick on Trump? He’s a businessman, first and foremost, and it’s the cost of doing business. He lives in a blue state - has businesses in blue cities and states - so, yeah, he is going to put money in their coffers. It doesn’t mean he supports their positions. It means he wants to stay in business. I read the first chapter of a book he wrote in 2011 - “Time To Get Tough,” and he quotes Ronald Reagan a lot. I think he even met with the Gipper. Trump is better than all but one or two of the other weenies running for the presidency right now.
“Donald Trump is not some big GOP Republican”
There’s only one real republican running for president and his name is Ted Cruz. He’s also the only real conservative.
Good grief - maybe those were his convictions at the time. Have you always had the same insight all your life? I sure haven’t. I used to be a Democrat until Ronald Reagan, and people do change their views when they mature. Well, some never do, but you get my drift.
Bill Gates has never contributed to a Republican in his life. And, I believe the Koch Bros. are Libertarians. Lighten up Louise - we have a country to save.
Let me correct you on one thing. Trump made the statement that he knows the government doesn’t create jobs. He isn’t that stupid. What he said is that government creates an atmosphere so that the private sector can create jobs - and he is absolutely correct. I get that you are anti-Trump, and I’m still on the fence about him. However, he is in my top 3 right now. God knows we could do worse, and we have. I will support any one of my top 3 - the others can pound sand. They aren’t worth my time.
That's a lot of rationalization for Trump. While at the same time, someone like Scott Walker mutters something in 2010 that sounds like advocacy for amnesty (which he later clarified otherwise) and he's pilloried for being an amnesty shill.
The problem is... other than (at the moment) border security, we don't really know WHAT Trump really stands for, do we? The guy is all over the map, and I find rather inconsistent the tendency of a lot of FReepers to ignore his past statements that speak to quite a wide and deep liberal streak.
Trump gave money to Rahm Emanuel in 2010 for his Chicago mayoral bid. Sorry, this doesn’t add up.
I support Trump only to the extent that I believe he is paving the way for Cruz and kicking some ass in the process.
Fair enough.
I totally believe that, at Trump’s level, you have to bribe them all, AND, that the Democrats are more demanding than the Republicans.
No, you missed my whole point. I’m not sure how, but you did. And I know this because if you got my point, you would not have said what you said.
I’m not peddling anything and Jeb Bush is the last person I want to see securing the Republican nomination and I like Donald Trump. He’s a likable guy. He’s kind of a rock star but he doesn’t come with guarantees, he comes with question marks and I like guarantees better than question marks. So, as far as I’m concerned-blood in, blood out for the Donald (metaphorically speaking of course). I have seen how he can damage Republicans. I want to see how he damages some Democrats now-one in particular-the one he gave $100,000 to.
Nobody can understand anything this morning.
But that figures. You think the country will be saved by someone who’s been a conservative for 15 minutes. No wonder this is tough....
Again, you are majoring in minors.
I’m not “complaining about his political contributions” - I am putting them in context of cronyism and what that means about him as a candidate.
I might have missed your point. I haven’t slept a wink all night. This selling baby parts of aborted babies has me deeply grieved, as I know that God is. I might have even reposted to you by mistake - when my comments might have been for someone else. So, if that is the case, then I apologize, and hopefully, after I get some sleep - I will be more lucid. Look, Cruz is my top choice of the 3 I’m watching. But, I’m also looking at Walker and yes - Trump. So, those are my top 3. I’ll overlook some warts, which they all have, because our country needs a 180 degree turn around, and only these 3, in my mind, are capable of doing it. I’m not going to split hairs over what Cruz, Walker or Trump did years ago. They are human, and make mistakes, but, a good leader surrounds himself/herself with good advisers, and that’s one area I think Walker is the weakest of the three. I hope I’m making sense from my sleep-deprived mindset.
I don’t think any man can save this country, if you want to know the truth. However, I think God can work through someone who can turn things around. I won’t get into a Biblical discussion over this, but, I only know we sure can do better than what we now have. Unless, of course, Yeb Bush, Chris Christie, Rand Paul or Marco Rubio get the nod. Then I retract that statement. The bottom rung of the Rs aren’t worth mentioning - so, I won’t.
I agree with all of that....but there is a contingent on FR who look at Trump as a savior. Their cultish comments are of the same flavoring that we hear from the Obama cultists.
