Carter was ridiculed back in the day for his ‘lusted in his heart’ comment.
However, that shows me he has read and at least had some basic understanding of the Sermon on the Mount. In this sermon Christ warned that simply following the letter of the law was not enough. To lust in your heart was equivalent to adultery, hate is equivalent to murder. Holiness requires more than fulfilling a simple checklist.
Yet here 40 years later he has succumbed to political ideology and forgotten all that he knew. It was well and clearly understood that when Christ spoke of sexual immorality in Matt 15 that homosexuality was included. He didn’t list each possible permutation because he didn’t need to.
There are other examples. The Bible is clear on the topic. Christ was clear on the topic. To suggest otherwise is either ignorance or wilful deceit.
Jimmah is a dumbass. Even Jesus would agree with that.
What Jesus said:

If you’re going to call me a bigot, you must call Christ a bigot first.
He may want to revisit the scriptures. The opposite is very clear in scriptures.
It’s been an amazing ride these last 25 years or so, watching the public being taken in on this issue.
If you stand for nothing, you fall for anything.
