More men should go MGTOW: men going their own way. Lots of videos on YouTube about it.
I was probably MGTOW long before I knew there was such a thing.
My wife and I recently visited an old friend of ours from our church family, a beautiful young South Korean woman who had moved to another state a few years ago. It was because she had met a guy online at a Christian dating site, a deputy sheriff, who had swept her off her feet. He is what you would call the ‘macho’ type. They had a whirlwind romance and got married a few months later in his home state.
The first clue that something was amiss was when she stopping attending church. Before we knew it she was out of the state and married. We were not invited to the wedding, nor was anyone else in our congregation. After that we lost all contact with her.
Three years later she re-connected with my wife on Facebook. We met her (in secret) last week in another city. She confided to us that she had made a dreadful mistake. Her parents originally had serious concerns about the impending marriage, but she had ignored all the warning signs because she was ‘blissfully in love’ (her words). However, after the marriage her husband had completely changed. He became controlling and abusive while dropping all pretense of being a Christian. He refuses to let her work or have contact with anyone outside the home (they have one 3yro son).
Now she feels trapped, but as a Christian see believes that she cannot leave even a loveless marriage. She is now in counseling (he refuses to go), while stuck in another state far from her family and friends.
We are praying for both of them of course, but beyond that we are not sure what else we can do.

My best friend from high school married, at about 35, a women who had been in a severely abusive relationship for 15 years and had three young daughters.

At any rate, nothing in this article (which I am not endorsing anyway) suggests people shouldn't get married. I didn't suggest that either.

The Alpha Male is the next target for the left. The whole thing with men spreading their legs on the subway was only the beginning. Now that gay marriage is legal nationwide you may be lulled into thinking that the never ending political agitation that is the left might abate. But you’d be dead wrong. The Alpha Male is ripe for dismantling and since most men display some alpha male behavior, most men will be targets.
