I think Tiger knows what he needs to do mentally by taking time off but they made a good point on ESPN radio this morning that he has to answer to his corporate sponsors so it is never enough time to get his on head straight.
It is big news only in the sense that he has been the greatest golfer on the planet since the late 90’s and he had never missed a cut and was lights out on the course. So now when he shoots 80 it’s a huge deal. But if you look at who missed the cut or shoot some horrific score you will regularly see big names who have won majors or other tournaments. What all this means is Tiger is human nothing more, nothing less.
His private life is his to own and I’m sure he can tell you his mistakes but what bothers me is that so many people here take some sort of personal pleasure from bashing him because he lived a life style that they disapprove of. Yes I’m am a huge fan and I don’t like the direction his game is going but it’s only golf and I have no personal investment whether he wins or loses, cheats on his wife, or dates a hundred women.
"Been there, done that, got the millions."
I heard them talk about an exemption for TW but I don't know if it applies to the Open.
