No. The ump pointed to the runner and signaled that he, not the batter, was out.
The beginning of Rule 6.05 states:
“A batter is out when...”
If the ump had invoked that rule here, the batter would have been out, not the runner coming from third. The ump clearly points to the third-base runner and indicates that he, not the batter, is out.
