“mental illness” is a phrase used to bundle up an entire gamut of mental issues. From psychopaths down to phobias. But most people think of “mental illness” as some NUTJOB to be “avoided”; as an “insane” person. It’s better to call the mental condition what it really is. To the best of my knowledge, homosexuality and lesbianism were always termed as “sexual identity disorders”. They never should have dropped that classification from the books.
