Paul Simon made the music. He’s entitled to some neurosis. Art Garfunkel describes a difficult personality, the reporter names Simon a monster.

Saw a recent interview with,I think concert promoters DeCeaser-Engler. When asked who was the most difficult star to deal with they both blurted out "Billy Joel!" with Madonna a close second. They also said the rock group Metalica were decent stand up guys to deal with.

I remember that song.
Wasn’t to my liking.
I’m sorry, Sharky!

Tom & Jerry can be found on 78rpm records. They bring a few bucks on Ebay.

The music can stand on its own.

Some of the nicest guys in Rock I have heard were: Pete Townshend, Gene Simmons, and Alice Cooper.

I have also heard the Dave Grohl is perhaps the nicest guy of all.

By contrast, most of your rappers (Jay Z, Kanye West, etc) are some of the biggest tools on the planet.

I don’t understand why a digital device that fits in the old 35mm cameras is not available yet.

FWIW, long ago, and far away, I remember DJ/commenter saying the song came about because Kodak pulled the plug on negotiations to have Simon do a commercial for them.

Could have been just filler talk by the DJ, or an urban legend.

Off stage he was incredibly difficult to work with..... one of the worst he has encountered.

Doesn't surprise me. I hope your son gets to work for a better person next time.

I think it is doable with any camera with removable backs. Probably too difficult for any camera without it as the sensor would have to be the same thickness as film.

Some of the functions could be built into the back. Probably not enough money in it.

Ektachrome was better.

Depends on your application.

I had Ektachrome 400 film in my camera when grabbed for a ski trip to Lake Placid. Turned out to be gorgeous, but the lens flare in the photos from the top of Whiteface would embarrass JJ Abrams.

Had I had even Kodachrome 64...

I think what is pretty clear is that Paul Simon has more talent in his little finger that Art Garfunkel ever had and Artie is just a little jealous. Garfunkel had a pleasant enough voice, but back in the 60s it was all about the song writers. What I always find strange is people posting things like, “Simon and Garfunkel? Never heard of ‘em.” “Who was Bob Dylan?” Might as well say, “I am socially retarded and have no life.”

Did your son mention how he sounded when he did sing?

I don’t understand why a digital device that fits in the old 35mm cameras is not available yet.

That is how they made the first digital cameras. Kodak made a back that would fit on a Nikon F3. 1991

You can get cameras that will use the older lens but the adapter devices just don't work good enough.

I came away from this article thinking a lot less of Art Garfunkel. The author clearly had an agenda to print snarky things about Paul Simon, but Garfunkel obliged. He left Simon & Garfunkel to become a math teacher because he couldn’t stand Simon, but poor me why doesn’t Paul want to sing with me. Really? I was more popular than Paul in high school? How pathetic is that coming from a 72 year old man.

Art Garfunkel had a beautiful voice, but there are lots of great singers. Simon wrote all of the music for Simon & Garfunkel. Simon has a list of memorable songs as a soloist that’s longer than his list of hits with Simon & Garfunkel. Without Garfunkel, Simon might not have achieved the iconic status that they reached for a few years, but he would still have been a hugely successful singer/songwriter. Without Simon, Garfunkel might well have become a traveling coat salesman.

Bottom line: enjoy the music, comedy, or acting of the people that enertain us, but don’t look to them as role models who have it all figured out.

Yeah, okay, whatever.

Garfunkel had a exquisite voice (once), but without Simon no one would even know who he is. As for Simon being difficult, so what? Most geniuses are. As a single performer, Simon was very good, but with Garfunkel he was great (they both were). Art should just STFU.

At least Roger Daltrey knows his place, he knows without Pete Townshend’s songs, he’d amount to nothing in the business.

I tried my daughter’s D800 with some old manual lenses. Worked fine, but way too complicated for her tastes...
