Good for anyone with time and all to get fancy mushrooms, but generally, I don't bother. Can't do everything. ;)

My son found a bunch of them last year. I cannot remember how he cooked them. But, he was a happy young man! lol I imagine he will gather more this year too.
I tried something new making risotto-
Take a nice brand of rice, put it into a pan with olive oil, and roast it, add oil as needed, into it is golden brown.
Be careful, once it starts to brown it goes to black really fast and then it is ruined- take it off the heat and stir as soon as it starts to get browned good, keep a bowl handy to dump it out and stop the browning action if it starts to get away from you, let the pan cool by putting in some chicken stock and then add the rice back in.
Once it is brown- add a cup of chicken or beef broth and cook until absorbed.
Keep adding broth as it is absorbed until it is cooked to your liking. I like it still a little chewy
Put this onto a plate and add browned fresh mushrooms with a little caramelized onions glazed on them
Serve with a sirloin steak or filet with some mushroom sauce and steamed Brussels sprouts
Put on a movie and digest, like a python, with several beers
repeat as needed
I was target shooting on my mom’s husbands’ land in northern Michigan. Just as I was squeezing the trigger, three trespassers hunting morels walked right into my line of fire.
Apparently a ,357 Magnum is too quiet.
They claimed they were lost. I said “road’s way. Take it”
I had friends in New Mexico that were transplanted from Michigan. I recall them talking about 2 things from back home that their friends gave them word on. When the morels were popping up, and when the perch were running.
I love morel hunting and can’t wait for the season to start here in a few more days. But, anyone who doesn’t know the difference between a morel and a toadstool has NO business being in the woods.
I was checking out my compost pile and noticed a Shaggy Parasol growing in there. This is odd because that particular ‘shroom usually shows up in mid autumn.
I’m going to leave it be, perhaps I’ll be rewarded this fall with a new crop in a new spot!
The only mushroom I like better than the shaggy parasol is the Prince Agaricus. Utterly amazing flavor and texture. It makes portabellos seem like canned button mushies.
SHaggy manes are pretty good too.
Robo stir! Stirio!! Yes!!!!
Pretty soon my daughter will be old enough to be a robo stir. Shhhhh.
Yum but you need the morels in with the rice a while, and I would add some fresh Parmesan too.
Beautiful!!
