I don’t agree with your assessment that he has a conflict of interest.
Fox News is not in business to SUPPORT or DEFEND any policy. They are in business to report.
Kaus’ article was a slap at Fox News for not being like the MSM and siding with this or that. Subsequently, the column puts forth the wrong interpretation of the stations purpose.
The problem is that LIBERALS believe all media should be supporting them and their policies; instead of just giving the news.
So, I’m sorry but I do not believe there was ANY conflict of interest on Tucker’s part - because what Fox News does has no relation to what Kaus was demanding Fox News start doing.
To me, this was just more of the radical leftists trying to level the playing field and get a leg up on Fox. But, Tucker, who is a lot smarter than you apparently give him credit for, read between the lines and wouldn’t allow a hit job on Fox.
The role of gatekeeper comes into play here. FOX News is far more likely to report news or make comments about things that are poltically incorrect i.e. things liberals do not want to reveal to the hoi polloi. That's why I watch it. I don't expect to agree with all their commentators...I just want information.
