Yeah... Just like the 2012 movie when the Earth suffered a Cataclysm...

Oh wait... You mean the real world is different from movies?

Well... Dang. I wanted a lightsaber next.

I had never heard of that. I will have to look that up.

I’ll bet Algore is suppressing that story! Ha ha.

Not a long horn but some Wisconsin cows. Cold snap froze them standing. It was quite a few years ago.

There is this, from October 2013: 100,000 Cattle feared dead after early South Dakota snowstorm

I guess the key with the Wholly Mammoths is that they stayed frozen. And not just for the winter.

These incidences, which there appear to be many, would rot the following season. The WM did not. It stayed frozen for thousands of years.

Seriously: They would use them because their DNA has been frozen for thousands of years. It would be in much better shape than that of other remains.

They would have tried to clone that Ice Man they found in the Alps, except his DNA is pretty much ours.

The article I saw in a newspaper (BI; before internet) had a picture of a frozen cow, still standing in the the barnyard.

It stayed frozen for thousands of years.

Yes, true. Rapid change. Quick enough to kill, flash freeze to preserve, and then remaining frozen for millennia.
