Of the two dozen or so women I have known who have children with men they are not married to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM was offered marriage by the man, they REJECTED them. It was a biased sample, to the extent that they were all college educated, but the assumption you are making, that women with bastard children are unmarried because the man didn't ask them to marry, is antiquated, in my opinion and contributes to the general man bashing that has gone on for the past two decades.
You're probably right, and Levi had better keep his thoughts to himself. Meyer is looked upon rather highly in the military community in general and by the Marines in particular--for obvious reasons. It wouldn't be wise to paint such a target on his back.

Also ask about how child support is not always considered that by the ex-wife. ie “wife support”, pseudo-alimony...

It's been a long time since any 'rat got wounded or did anything remotely heroic (not counting Brian Williams ◔_◔), much less earn the CMoH, and the rats can't stand it. So they're sure to go into a raging snit over it.
Kerry, in particular, must be feeling really inadequate right about now, because chasing down and murdering a wounded, frightened, unarmed Vietnamese teenager isn't viewed as being very a heroic act by most Americans.
