‘Singing in the Rain’ is supposed to be the best musical ever made, but ‘Gigi’ gets my vote.

So WHO do we consider the handsomest man in Hollywood, from the 20s to today? And none of those girly-men so popular today, please

Surprised there were so few posts re; most handsome actors from the 20’s through today.
Surely we weren’t the only two girls reading this thread.

That subject alone would make a good thread.

I look for a man who is wise, strong, decisive- but gentle, protective and loving. You can’t find that in boys.

I guess I’m just old fashioned..definately not a feminist

Women didn’t have sense enough to know when they had it made.

Yes, but it's so highly subjective as to what constitutes "handsome". There are men whose looks I doubted were even mortal, as I've said. None of the current "hunks" do anything particular for me. Very handsome men include Brad Pitt, Chris Pine, James Marsden, and Hugh Jackman.

None of today’s male ‘stars’ do anything for me.

What’s with Brad Pitt?
I see men on the street every day who put him to shame in the looks department. IMHO he’s very ordinary looking.

They just don’t make them any more like the old classic stars.

Gregory Peck has been my favorite actor since I was in high school - in the ‘50’s!!!

From your bio - - ‘Shawshank Redemption’ - is also a fav.

We lived for 5 years in Las Cruces, New Mexico - close to El Paso.
Had 2 daughters in Las Cruces. Loved it there - coming from the east coast, but will not be returning.

Thanks for your reply!

Yes, Gregory Peck was a good actor- and one of the most handsome men ever produced by Hollywood. What a handsome face- and that voice. Just wow.

Where have all the actors like this gone?
There’s not a one of today’s ‘stars’ who can hold a candle to the likes of Peck, Grant, Taylor or Jourdan.
They all look like ordinary men you’d see on the street every day- or worse, a bum or a girly man.

Shawshank Redemption is going down in history as one of the best ‘feel good’ movies of all time and some experts have begun to tout it as a ‘perfect’ movie.

Although I don’t agree with Tim Robbin’s and Morgan Feeman’s politics/lifestyle, they were excellent in their roles.

Congrats on getting away from the east coast.
Consider moving to Texas. There are better areas of Texas than El Paso. (see bio- Tx diversity section)

No, no more moving!
We’re retired here in Ventura County, about 1 hour north and slightly west of Los Angeles. (The county is all over, but we live near the coast).
We’ve been in the same house here since 1969! After moving, for the company, from Las Cruces, NM.
We’ve really liked it here. So warm lately. And 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean! We liked New Mexico, too, coming from the east coast.

Lots to like about Calif. Except the prices. We close our eyes and pay!
Clothing and food is about the same as most places, but it’s the high cost of housing - on small plots. Larger, if one has the bucks.
We have experienced a few ‘rumblers’ here - something else to see the chains lights swinging! Once I was seated in this very chair when we had a small one - years ago. I think we’re over-due - - -

There’s no doubt all the minuses are nothing compared to the beauty and weather here.
And eventually the house is paid for - - -
We did miss the quarter horse for a while, who was kept in a simple stall in the corner of our (tiny) New Mexico ‘spread!’
Two of our daughters claim Las Cruces as their place of birth.

PS
My all-time favorite movie is ‘The Red Shoes.’

Someone we know (a retired kids’ manager) replied some years ago, that this movie will have, or has, all the right stuff for a truly great film.
The love story, the dancing, the music, ‘Victoria’s’ eyes - mmmmmm - !
