There was something about him that turned me off.
He thought he was hot stuff, and it showed.
Didn’t like his pink poochy lips either. lol
May and December romances have always been a feather in a man’s cap (within constraints of decency, of course), Only now in the last few decades, have older women been enjoying the same dynamic, and being envied for it. Viva la Cougars!
In Hollywood he was called the man with the perfect face.
You should see him in 'Waterloo Bridge'..omg

I find the ‘trend’ distasteful. Never like younger men.
Maybe I’m looking for a father figure. LOL
Did you see Reeves in ‘Somewhere In Time’?
He was very handsome in that wonderful, romantic movie.
Fantastic musical score, too.
From my limited experience with women, most of them do seek a Father figure, or a man who will overwhelm - surpass them in some very clear manner of comparison. Maybe some women miss the simplicity of their childhood days. On a subconscious level. Lest we forget, girls are often the first to start seeing the world as an adult, with boys usually catching up later.
(I have a thing for Frenchmen)
You’re right, lee martell.
I loved him very much, such a heart throb! It’s good to learn he was a brave fellow too. RIP Louis Jourdan, you will be missed by me.
My personal fave has always been Clark Gable, but Errol Flynn was also extremely good looking. I know he was maybe not such a great guy, but he just oozed charm.
Love him too!
Gigi is one of my favorite movies. I love the French, they have such effortless style. I wish I could be like that, but I never will be, but I do admire them so.
He was spectacular in “GIGI” He was with a very strong cast too and could have been overshadowed
- GREGORY PECK -
and Audie Murphy - -
It was not faked. He didn't go around unshaved, spewing filth and calling it ‘acting’.
It was a different world. Women my mother's age always preferred guys like that...and it makes sense.
Men like my father were like THAT. Strong, quiet and self possessed. I think that's why girls my age are out of luck because we want guys like our father and there are none. Just silly, giggly half-men who don't know how to be masculine.
It's way different now and I don't think it's an improvement.
The only time I ever watched him in a movie was in ‘Some Like It Hot’. My fascination/research with movie classics doesn’t go back that far.:)
‘Singing in the Rain’ is supposed to be the best musical ever made, but ‘Gigi’ gets my vote.
