Cue Turbo’s break-dancing scene from “Electric Boogaloo.”

They deserve some recognition. I used to play Pineapple Symphony all the time, from the Ralph and Florian album.

Autobahn was a real game changer, never heard anything like it before.

I discovered their pre-Autobahn stuff when they used more acoustic instruments like guitars and flutes, some real cool stuff there.

This is my favorite Kraftwerk song,

The Model

An Army brat, I heard Kraftwerk when they were brand new from guys who had just returned from Germany, where Uncle Sam had sent their Dads and thus the whole family.

Interesting that everybody has mentioned the post breakup Kraftwerk. For a listen to the early experimental electronic Kwerk try the 1973 double LP named (appropriately enough) “Kraftwerk” or something from the spin-off group “Neu”

“Just wondering what they influenced..”

SNL, Mike myers character on “Deiter’s Dance Club” was themed with a Kraftwerk tune. From there they clearly guided all social, political, literary, and scientific achievement. Strangely, the music world wasn’t much influenced by them.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m so excited that I feel like a little girl.....
