His first as well. He was 25. Filming took less than two weeks.

Cool Hand Luke had a lot of talent in the small parts of that film - Dennis Hopper, Ralph Waite, Wayne Rogers, Anthony Zerbe, etc. Great, great movie.

Maximum Overdrive is a pure guilty pleasure of mine. The plot makes no sense, and it’s silly to the core, but it’s so much danged fun!
Plus, it had Pat Hingle in it, another of my all-time favorite character actors. (Hang ‘em High, Brewster’s Millions, The Grifters, Batman, etc.)

"Spielbergs best movie IMHO." Agreed.
Artistically Spielberg's career was all downhill after this classic.

I loved the TV movie "Trapped" (1973) with James Brolin where he gets locked inside a department store at night.
He has to get past each level which has guard dogs on patrol.
Some made for TV movies are gems.

Darn.
That is a good example, man, a lot of those were gems.

Brian's Song is such a tear-jerker.
Too bad the modern-day remake down-played the racism.
It made the movie that much more powerful.
Two very different men, one black, one white become best friends.
One of James Caan's best roles.

Credit is a sacred trust. It’s what our free society was founded on! Do you think they give a damn about their bills in Russia? [Otto does not answer] I said, “Do you think they give a damn about their bills in Russia?”

Duel made me look askance at every truck I passed for years. I still don’t like it when I can’t look into the cab of a truck.

Funny, Mr Kitty and I were just discussing this movie a few days ago. I couldn’t remember who played the main character. (Dennis Weaver)
That movie scared the daylights out of me when it first aired. ABC Tuesday Night Movie of the Week and I watched them faithfully every week. Some, including this one, were actually quite good.

I had actually never seen it. My Kitty and I did a Paul Newman movie binge last year and I finally saw it.
He died for being drunk and knocking the top off of parking meters. I couldn’t get over that.
