When I was stationed at Ft Leavenworth, one of my jobs was to control the allocation of ammunition to Guard and Reserve units that would come to the post to qualify. As part of the week long class for the position, we covered both the shipping placards required for the vehicles transporting the ammunition and the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
That is where I ran across how dangerous Nitrogen can be. The class instructor used an incident at NASA where people died to illustrate his point.
