I agree with some of your selections and would not have chosen others. There is one tho which I think is worse than awful.
“American Beauty”? one of the worst movies ever.
The Yearling was a great movie, but last time I watched it (years ago) I was depressed for a month. My children have not been allowed to watch it. My daughter would never recover.

I certainly understand. :)
“Goodbye, Lenin!” is my favorite movie of the last 20 years or so. It makes me laugh and the screen always winds up blurry at the end.
Ratatouille or Secondhand Lions ... when you care enough to have your soul regaled.
I’ll check them out. Thanks.
One of my favorite scenes is when Judah is on the march through the desert and he suddenly falls down from his extreme thirst.
Then the scene shifts to a man who scoops up a cup of water and as he’s helping Judah take a drink, the big, burley guard starts yelling at Jesus and as the guard gets closer and closer .. JESUS STANDS UP (in a clean white garment) .. the guard stops dead in his tracks .. appears afraid and he begins to back away from Jesus .. I have always believed that this reaction to Jesus was much more prevalent than most writers will admit.
What is your favorite part ..??
title says “best” movie ever made, dude
30-minute TV special in 1982 “Here Comes Garfield”
It was first shown on Oct 25, 1982 but I think they ran it on Thanksgiving too, because I was in the hospital and saw it and it made me sad.
Rowsdower!
Yes, when he overcame his fear, as fear was overshadowed by his love for his family.
Definitely in the top five. My top ten:
10. Lawrence of Arabia
9. Psycho
8. The Great Dictator
7. Once Upon A Time In The West
6. Blade Runner
5. Dr. Strangelove
4. Citizen Kane
3. It’s A Wonderful Life
2. The Godfather
1. Casablanca (and it’s not terribly close)
Charlie Chaplin’s talkie is in your top 10? Who woulda thunk? (was that his only talking film? I think so... )
It was his first talking film. He sang in “Modern Times” in 1936, four years prior to “The Great Dictator”. His last five movies were all talking pictures.
