Thanks...I have read the reviews and they seemed mixed. Looking for real Info.
My son bought one about 2 1/2 years ago and he’s been happy with it. No problems.
In the interest of full disclosure I should state that my dad put in over 30 years at the Claycomo plant and if I drove anything but a Ford he'd disown me. But I love the care and would have gotten it regardless.
Cannot directly reference the Fusion, but my 1+ year old Escape has been wonderful. No problems of any kind whatsoever, and mpg average has been 29 for the 2 liter turbocharged version in Colorado.
It’s fast, handles well, and is very comfortable.
Agree on the GM decision. Their cars are probably not bad now, but I had complete lemons time and time again from them (yup, I’m stupid) and will no longer trust “Gubmit Motors”. Evah!
I’m waiting for the Ford Mr. Fusion.
The new Escape uses the same basic platform as the Fusion if I’m not mistaken. Escape is now a car-based CUV, essentially a tall wagon with increased ground clearance and optional AWD, but driven by the front wheels in normal everyday driving. Might even have the same engine as a Fusion now.
In five years I've had the oil changed on time and bought one new tire. I keep thinking the battery is going to die one day!
Oh!...and the have engine checked light came on and my mechanic cleaned out some leaves and trash that was blocking an air intake.
2010 SEL OWNER. Would highly recommend it
2011 SEL (AWD) owner. Best car I’ve ever owned.
I have a 2008 Ford Fusion - My only regret is that I bought the I-4, instead of the V-6. I had the check engine light come on in Feb, but I live in PA & winter was brutal, so I think that had something to do with it. The error code was something with the thermostat housing and the Air Pump. I just had my first alignment - it didn’t need it before now. I’ve bought tires twice. I’ve replaced the front & rear brakes this year (again, didn’t need work until this year, besides brake pads). The transmission was just starting to shift a little hard on hills, but a refill of the transmission fluid has fixed that. Overall, I’m very happy with this car and plan on owning it until I get to the tipping point of value/repair.
Never owned a Fusion but rented a bunch of them on the job.
Its a nice ride not too bad on gas and a good size too for passenger transportation. My personal vehicle is a Ford Ranger truck 2003— low miles and its paid for. Me keeps it.
We rented one once. I liked it, it reminded me of my camry.
The low profile GY tires look like they may last another 10,000-15000 miles. Will replace them with Michelins.
Rented one on vacation and wasn’t impressed. The inside is pretty sparse, with cheap looking/feeling components and that stupid “hole” in the dashboard/center console. I was thinking about buying the Titanium model and that’s why I rented one.
Ended up buying an Audi A4. Probably the best car I’ve ever owned and you can see, hear, and feel the difference in quality.
Cars and Tanks - the Germans know how to make ‘em. :)
I am familiar with someone who has 2012 with about 50K on it and I believe the computer board that does the transmission needs replacing. He bought an extended warranty that included transmission but it excludes the computer board.
Biggest gripe is the A/C doesn't come on sometimes. I read there is a sensor problem where they placed it. If I go over a bump, the A/C will kick on - sometimes smacking the top of the dashboard will kick it on. Frustrating problem.
