I was wondering the same. Seems it would indicate where she was the night she disappeared.
They know where she was before she disappeared.
She was at a party and later at an apartment complex blocks away. A surveillance camera caught her outside a pub, where she was turned away. She was seen running past a gas station at one point and later spotted at a restaurant. At another point, she had drinks with a man at a bar.

They don’t.
It is possible the police do, but are not releasing that info.
They never found her phone.
It was working up until approximately 1:25AM on the night she disappeared while she was with the perp. It either ran out of juice or the batteries were removed. They don’t know.
“They know where she was before she disappeared.”
You are missing the point.. If the phone trail is tracked, as I am sure it was, the police may have a known location for the cell phone AFTER the girl was last seen in a bar or on a store camera. And the location of the phone was most certainly close to where the missing student was at the same time. My specific question would be, where was the phone’s last known location? If the phone were destroyed outside of town, it might indicate a direction the abducted girl was traveling in. I would think the police would share this information to help the public focus on the search.
they knew she had pink iphone, but it has not been located yet, the chief asked the public to keep the phone in mind if any were found while out and about and to report it if any was found

Acutally, I was responding to the comment: "where she was the night she disappeared". That was the point of my comment.
If the phone trail is tracked, as I am sure it was,
You believe all phones are tracked and the data kept for review later?
And the location of the phone was most certainly close to where the missing student was at the same time.
Probably, if such data existed. Life isn't a TV show. As for real life technology abilities, do you believe the police are not aware of them?
The search for her body has been diverted to the south of the city. That may be an indication. I could find her in 1 hour. 30 minutes (probably less) with the perp, 30 minutes for dispatch. Unfortunately, these people who call themselves “liberals” are really indifferent wannabe commies who could care less about a white girl being murdered by one of their protected class members. If it was a black girl killed by a white guy this would have been over weeks ago! Instead, they wear orange ribbons at a football game to feel good about themselves. F-ing pathetic. This will continue to happen!
This is why both of my daughters in their 20s have Life360 on their phones.
I don’t rely on the cops/phone company to tell me where they’ve been. I know where they are any given minute and if it looks like they aren’t in their normal stomping grounds, they get a phone call and I get heat palpatatios.
“You believe all phones are tracked and the data kept for review later?”
Yes, I do. Just as all emails and phone calls can be retrieved.
Recently, a woman was murdered by a marine she was having an affair with. He met her secretly in the mountains, killed her and threw her down into an abandoned mine shaft, one of hundreds in that area. Her body was retrieved fairly quickly. Cell phone tracking got them close enough to find her.
Again, Life360. Not only can you see exactly where they are at any given moment, but you can see the history of their movements for the prior several days. I know when they leave the house, how long it took them to get to work, when they went to the store, etc.
It’s free app available for Android and iPhones. No parent should be without it.
It can mean the difference between life and death.
Seems that she was living dangerously to go out by herself and hit the bars — or at least try to. I wonder why.
“You believe all phones are tracked and the data kept for review later?”
If the phone has a charge, you can track its general vicinity every few minutes from pings to the cell towers. Those records are definitely retained.
These tracking plans are great. They aren’t turned on and off, though. All cell phones can be tracked. You pay a fee and you are allowed access.
Young folks have that desire for the forbidden fruit (alcohol). I wonder if she were really drunk or was her drink spiked with a roofie traveling from the bar to her hands.... Then the predator simply followed behind until the drug took hold and she stumbled. If this was the MO, it might be that it was used several times before. Would be nice if this solved the problem of the other missing girls along the Rt. 29 corridor...
Life360 is free.
Youngest daughter just left her house for work. Lol.
Does she know you are using it? My kid found out my ex was using it secretly and was mildly resentful.
You’re probably right. But going ALONE seems beyond stupid.
