My husband did laundromat duty for me on Aug. 12 when I was working at the polls for the Primary. He brought the wash home wet to dry. Then I had my first set of machines delivered and I did 2 loads — leaking all over the (old) floor after each one.
So, today was the 3rd load of wash since my machines have been out.
I realize that I have been pampered all these years with always a working washer and dryer (since 1963).
I’ve never been, he did it for me for the short duration.
I've had that happen for no apparent reason. I have a flexible vent. If the dryer gets jpushed too far back against the wall, it compresses the vent and it doesn't work properly. So, that is always the first thing I check if it seems that the dryer has no heat. It's saved a service call more than once.
Actually, I've never had a service call. The resident engineer fixes everything around here, although that service is coming to an end. They no longer include schematic drawings with your owner's manuel, and the version on line is so tiny that I defy anyone to order the correct part. Besides, everything is electronic now and not easily repairable.
Part of me really regrets sending the old set to recycling. The dryer worked perfectly, and the washer probably did too, since the LEAK turned out to be in my household plumbing (fixed now). I was concerned about the oil that dripped out when the washer was turned over on its side for a week, but my husband assured me that that was easy to fix. He was just concerned about where the water was coming from. It turned out to be coming from the outdoor tap.
Congratulations to the happy couple!!
Thanks!
