If I was training a dog for attack duties, Id pick a Yorkie before a Golden. Definitely. Yorkies have no concept of how small they are. 10 pounds of pure attitude.

The police almost always USED to get the benefit of the doubt, but NO MORE! I used to give LEOs the benefit of the doubt: they do a tough job, deal with difficult to dangerous people in all kinds of unpredictable environments. But there's been a change in the last few years: Cops don't act anymore like protectors of the citizenry, but as the enforcers of the state, and that's disturbing. And when coupled with the radical militarization of police forces around the country, the entire business is downright worrisome.

Anything after the first shot the dog was disabled, the second shot he was just shooting to be cruel, said Carwile. And chances are, the cop blew the dog away because he can.

When I think of the "deputy" I wonder, was it fear, pathological, evil, stupidity or worse?
These stories make me angry. They are also troubling in a "first dogs, then people" sort of way.
This disregard for life and property, as well as what could be a willful desire to cause emotional trauma, perhaps in order to "keep them down", seems to be on the rise against we, the "civilians", here in this obamanation at the same time our GuvCo is building an ever growing police state.
These stories are yet another signpost along the road we've been put on. All roads lead somewhere. Where's this one going?

Eventually, it wont be just the dogs. The time is rapidly coming in which children will be targeted as dogs are now. That's the type of oppressive society we are becoming.

Meh. I hate that game. It’s cool they’ve incorporated the dog shooting cops in it, though.

If those police act like Nazi scum, it is because they are cut from the same cloth.

Vicious wouldn’t be the operative word, Tough, Brave, or Loyal would be more apt.

It’s completely ridiculous! Golden retrievers are so calm that they are heralded as great pets for families with children.
I wonder if they would ever consider retraining the entire police force. Instead of shooting the dog, how about standing still for a second or two? Most dogs understand that and stop charging. They need to know that you aren’t a threat.
When we have a stranger coming, like the pest control guy, the plumber, the mailman, etc. we ask that they let our dog sniff their hands and shoes while they stand still. Next thing, the dog is wagging its tail!
I cannot understand why the police can’t be trained the same way as the postal delivery person.

Felt threatened by a Golden Retriever? Whether he felt threatened or not does not matter. Saying that phrase absolves any police officer of any guilt for any killing he does of man or beast. Killing dogs and other living beings is coming to be treated as the much deserved rewards for the stressful work they do, perks as it were.

Yet more proof — if more were needed — that there is NO situation that cannot be made WORSE by the presence of the cops.
