Indeed it’s not.
What ... that they caught fire? Internal combustion engines also have caught fire over the decades.
I’d take a Tesla ‘S’ and I promise not to T-Bone it.

The batteries are dangerous ,, they spontaneously combust on occasion when accepting a charge.. I can’t wait for a Tesla to get caught on Daytona Beach with the tide coming in ... remember those 6 electrics that burned down that (NJ or NY .. don’t remember) seaside town when doused with salt water in the hurricane..
TSLA just got some free advertising, along with an unscheduled battery crash test.
Stoppered that synagogue doorway nicely!
I suspect, if the thief had stolen an A8 or an S-Class instead and crashed it the same way, the result would have been more spectacular.
Personally I think Tesla is a slam dunk short.
And I understand you never bet against a regime affiliate.
There are Tesla’s all over town where I live in S. CA.
They are as quick, if not a tad quicker than my Corvette.
Instant Torque from a standing start. No Internal Combustion Engine can do that. That is why Porsche and others are building Hybrid Supercars.
Maybe some day I’ll be in the market for a supercar.
Right now I’m saving up to replace my tires. I figure they’ve got about 10,000 miles left.
LOL there was a thread on that new HellCat Dodge Challenger with 700hp the other day.
I looked up the rear tire price - $550 bucks each.
Outta my league....
Tesla puts flame retardant in the batteries.
If I hit the Lotto, I would buy a Tesla in a heartbeat along with a few Ferrari’s, Porsches, the list is endless.
Good luck on the Tires.
I’ve always wonder what security measure tesla cars have to deal with thieves since you don’t require a key to start up a car.
