Downloading the DraftSight demo now. It's an Ubuntu version and a beta release, but it says it's a .deb file so I will try it on a Debian-derivative and see how well it runs. If nothing else, I can temporarily install a kUbuntu distro and try it that way as well, but it looks interesting.

It will also give Me the opportunity and excuse to evaluate another distro, so that's a plus as well.

Back atcha. Agreed. I also have clients (and some relatives) that have macs in their businesses, however I do not work on those client's machines I simply advise them on certain of their design (not computing) needs, and on specifications for products and recommendations on manufacturors. All those years of working in Silicon Valley are really coming in handy these days.

I also work on some machines that only run the Windows OS, primarily because it is the most default installed OS in the world and they are used to working in it. Some, of course, because they just are too unwilling to switch over to Linux to have to learn another skillset.

They do appreciate however when I can come over and rescue their crashed machine and get them going from a saved restore point while at the same time destroying whatever malware has invaded their machine so the relief when they can get back to work once it is up and running again is always a good thing to see.

Plus it gives Me the opportunity to show them why I prefer the OS I do. Even win some converts at times.

Anyways, bless that little twitfilter app I installed so as to not to waste time with unnecessary trash posts, nice chatting with you and you have a great day and a better 4th of July holiday as well. Toodles!

that is a stupid question and shows your lack of understanding of the topic. Windows is not MADE for supercomputers and never was or will be.

But the people who used to laugh at it when it first came out are the same people who laugh at it now, $trillions in revenue later.

Unix/Linux STILL does not have a user friendly interface grandma can just turn on and use to email recipes to her bridge club, and it probably never will. But its perfect for supercomputing.

Shanghai seems to disagree with you.

Wrong. It does--and has--a very user-friendly interface. In fact, it's got several.

But its perfect for supercomputing.

Look at that. There is a correct comment in this post.

I just found this article. Don't know if it would be useful, but you can play around for free, if you want.
