I haven’t tried uNetBootin; Universal USB Installer has never given me a problem. That said, I’m done distro hopping now. Settled on PCLinuxOS. Now if I want to check another distro, I do it via VirtualBox. Haven’t found another distro that makes me want to change.
I did install Arch a few months ago, just for the challenge. Was successful, but only after several hours of tinkering. My next challenge: installing Slackware! When I have the time and, more importantly, the patience....

Right, but I'm running VB on XP. I've spent my last dime with Microsoft. My VM is running Mint 15. XP has no connectivity to the internet but the VM does. XP is for offline utility and game use only.
I may have to give Mint 17 a try on my VM.

I've downloaded the KDE Mint, and have created a VM that I'll try to use as my primary work VM for a while. This will be a great test for me for just about everything but multimedia apps.
So far, it's been fairly painless. I've been using XFCE for this previously, and will probably test out the Mint 17 XFCE desktop once it goes gold. It will be interesting seeing how well it works from a speed perspective, compared to a Fedora XFCE VM I've been using for a while.
God, I love having choices!
