They tried to introduce real gerbils as extras, but they don’t listen to the director very well. They just scurried around and nibbled on the castle walls. Stuffed animals work better; they’re as clever as many actors, it appears.
I was out at the Trap range shooting one of my older guns, a Browning Auto 5 that was one of the last one’s made in 1914 before the Belgians had unwanted guests. A guy asked me about it so I gave him the spiel. He had an accent I didn’t recognize. Turns out he was from Serbia. His last comment was “Browning good gun, Gavrilo had one!”
That was weird.
I looked up the show on line and found out quite a bit about the actor (but no explanation for the unusual — to my ear — first name). Yannick was born in Canada, but raised in Florida which is why his speech is unaccented. He was a child actor and he has other credits to his name besides Murcoch. I caught him in another drama a few weeks ago (I’ve forgotten the series) where he played the villain. It was one of those stories where the actress is stalked by someone, and she doesn’t know who. It turns out to be the psychopathic murderer — Yannick Bisson — who had been wining and dining her. She escapes and he dies. It was unbelievable to me because of my weeks long relationship with Murdoch.
But the movie clip that I found the most revealing was one about the remodeling of his house. I am not fond of contemporary design, but he and his wife did a makeover of their house which is featured on line, and it is just gorgeous. I think it revealed a lot about their personalities. They look like people whom I would like to call friends, if I knew them. Unlike most celebrities.
Yes, that was weird. Indicative of something bad, like when you meet someone named Attila or Tamerlane.
When I googled earlier, I found an interview with him and his wife about life with three teenaged daughters. They seem like very sensible people. He’s older than I thought, almost my age.
I like to imagine that he is exactly like Murdoch in real life. That’s silly, of course.
Doesn’t seem a total opposite, at least!
