There is nothing funny about losing your dog or lost dog signs.

You are absolutely right. I live in an area where coyotes have taken cats including one of mine 30 years ago. When I pass through the neighborhood and see signs for missing small animals I figure they became coyote chow.

I live right in the middle of Houston near a bayou and I have seen coyotes in the middle of the day. People lose cats and small dogs here too.

I remember when idiots would actually put food out for them thinking that would curtail their appetites. Just like those crazy people who feed bears.

Of course I have a friend who freaks out every time I give the squirrels in my trees peanuts because they spread rabies. Yes I know that they do but I have known this group of squirrels for generations.

I’m making several chubby but I don’t plan to eat them.

I was once sitting in the jury duty room, and we had been there for hours and hours. (You all know the drill.) I had gone through all the dog-eared reading material I could find, and I was about to explode from boredom.

I made another pass through an old newspaper, and started running through the classified ads. When I got to the missing pets section, there was an announcement for a lost pet skunk. It assured us readers that it was tame, friendly, and descented. I busted out laughing, and I could not stop laughing as hard as I tried.

The other bored jury duty folks thought I was crazy until I showed them the ad. We all howled with laughter so loud that the bailiff guy came in to see what we were doing. So we showed him the ad and he couldn't stop laughing either.

We were all describing how we would be going up to every skunk in town to check if it was friendly. I still get a good laugh out of it to this day.

I haven't thought of that in a while! Amazingly, this site is still up.
