Well, although The Peanut Farmer was certainly inept, I did not have the same fears for our country that I have now. Obama is carefully following an orchestrated plan to deprive us of our liberties, assets and healthcare choices, and the Democratic “leaders” like Harry and Nancy and their ilk are frightening in their ignorance and nefarious intentions. Even Brother Billy Carter sucking up to the Libyans seems like child’s play compared to what is going on now.
Linda Ronstadt flashed her boobs at a concert I had the pleasure of attending at Munn Ice Arena, Michigan State University sometime in the 70’s. She sounded good too. Truly, one of the strongest singing voices ever heard.
My, how times have changed...
Fortunately, the US has commercial astronaut transport vehicles already under development and nearing manned flight certification, an American engined line of boosters in the Delta IV family, a ready stockpile of Russian RD-180 rocket engines for the Atlas V, and a fall back plan to produce a US version of those engines if we need to. The Russian threat is more in the nature of venting, bluffing, and probing for weakness.
1. The president isn’t ‘inept’. He’s actually pretty good at his job. It’s just that his job is to destroy this country.
2. The ‘malaise’ that struck in the 70’s won’t be ending anytime soon. It’s not just a matter of getting those factories back to work again. Those factories are in other countries this time. Those family supporting jobs will never again come back. They’re gone for good.
3. Our enemies know this. Even in the depths of our malaise in the 70’s, Russia didn’t dare attack us. I have no such beliefs this go around. We don’t even manufacture our essential military gear in this country any longer.
Classic musical building tension and release.
no kidding. and you can’t breathe in a store with out being accosted by someone selling solar panels and wanting to “energy proof” your house. just like the seventies.
This is what the average family wore in the 1970’s when going out.

All we need are 21% mortgage rates and we are there. Typical liberal democrats.
I liked LRB also.
Not in my part of Texas. Dressing like that might get your ass kicked. :)
Probably the most accurate representation of the mid 70's comes from the movie "Dazed and Confused". When I watched that I thought I had reached a time warp.
That movie captured that era perfectly.
About what I was going to say. Except I would add, we did not have 20 million new citizens waiting on the doorstep with their pre-filled out Democrat (communist) voter registrations. (plus their family members that’ll be following)
Thank God disco is still dead.
That is very odd because I didn’t see your post either! There is some Pablo Cruise serendipity going on here.
And no damnable tats on the girls.
Then there was Ruffian.....bawled like a baby when that happened.
and then a step to the right.
