Try Me was one of his best.
G R A V I T Y the big G
My favorite is “It’s a Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World”. (1966)
Living In America http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHqUipinDyw
I read that was Michael Jackson’s favorite song.
McInyyre played an interview with James Brown and Barbara Walters the other day that was hilarious. He kept singing over her and avoiding any loaded questions.
It was decades ago. On YouTube.
Love it - James could give some lessons to the self-destructing Repubs out there blowing every interview right and left. )
Please, Please, Please.
The extended version of "Funky Drummer" from the collection In the Jungle Groove.
Also "Soul Power" and "Funky President (People It's Bad)."
This is a Man’s World....
James Brown was OK I guess, but I prefer the Flying Lizards’ cover of ‘Sex Machine”:

“James Brown has been accredited for being one of the founding fathers of the funk music.”
James was also the founding father of about 18 illegitimate kids.
Way back in my days as a touring musician, one of our bus drivers had previously driven for James Brown. Cool guy.
You don’t have any hobbies?
I was fortunate enough to see the GFOS live in concert at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, AK in late 1976. Unusual venue but a fantastic show. He was in his prime. I’ll never forget that one.
LOL. That’s an expensive hobby. Especially when the wimmen come after you looking for a paycheck
Good stuff Nick....The bass in ‘Mother Popcorn’ is excellent!!
