that is funny bc xshub has been talking the past few days about selling the house and moving to a condo in Falls Church city and living amongst the Earthwatchers there and walking to restaurants and to St James. not in a million years is that going to happen, but he’s fed up with stuff that needs fixed etc.
Then you wouldn’t even need to have cars. You could ride the Metro everywhere. How blissful it would be. ;-)
huge remodeling project, at the moment there’s dudes coming over to give estimates for removing some floor underlayment. Did get mixed messages on the report for the last guy; he’s both very good looking, but has biblical verses all over his business card and even calls his company Phil 4:13. His card also has old school carpenter tools on it, and there is a cross, kind of indicating that he is capable of building stuff to kill God. Interesting business approach....
oh man; that would be awesome
But I'm with xshub - I would love to live in a city center like that and just walk down to have a drink or dinner
Or maybe trying to convince you he is honest?
bet his truck has a bumper sticker which says My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter... : )
and i could stop wearing makeup and let my hair go grey and buy some silver jewelry and birkenstocks and we could go FULL ON earthwatcher!
We have some of those “project 21” type set ups in our area too! (Glenn Beck would shudder) They are fun to visit - walk around to various places to drink or eat - live entertainment in the square and even shopping available. The problem is parking. It is a bitch to find someplace to park, however, for $400K for an apartment much smaller than our current house, just to get two parking spots, seems a bit much. ;^)
xshub has spoken to Mr B about replacing both garage doors and the surrounding garage door frames, which are rotting out. i hate those kinds of projects which are just so utilitarian, but yet cost $$$.
and being from dirtroad rural PA, that concept is just beyond foreign to me, as you must know.
And just try peeing off of the porch, or shooting off firearms or fireworks at one of those places.
I agree. We replaced the front door last fall - we had a beautiful solid wood door but it would swell with weather conditions and made locking/unlocking difficult. I wanted a glass/iron inset to let light into the entryway so my Marine replaced it last fall. It makes a huge difference in the look and light
you are such a dang backwoods hillbilly it isn’t even funny!
And you can go shopping every day. Buy toilet paper by the 4 pack. Cause the bus doesn’t go to Sam’s Club and you couldn’t carry it anyway.
That made me laugh.....considering my husband’s sister.....we are discussing a family gathering soon and I asked my husband if his sister has electricity in her “green” home....
MY HOA doesn’t really allow for shooting firearms unless you plan to kill an intruder..... and quit bragging about being able to pee off the porch. Girls got robbed in that design deal! ;^)
I can see the appeal of single-level maintenance-free living at some future date. But not now.
not now for us either. there would be as many drawbacks as attractions to such a setup, IMO.
