Most liberals I know are less enthusiastic about Obama now, but view the ongoing problems to be the fault of everyone other than their leaders. Bush, the TEA party, Republicans, bankers, evil corporations, white people, the 1 per centers... but never Obama.

Shows they were intelligent. An intelligent person changes their mind, the fool never does. I too voted Democrat when I began voting. Me and the Democrat Party parted company over gun control and abortion.

As I stated earlier, thinking people change. You described intelligent thinking people, in my opinion.

People who were excited are STILL all in. If anything, they realized he is a politician, not a superhero god, but they are still in the tank. And Obamacare will out just fine once the kinks are worked out, according to them.

Yeah, I have a semi-celebrity best buddy who is admittedly and purposefully ignorant about politics. He doesn’t vote. (He’s just ‘above’ that sort of thing because it’s ‘not about him’). His wife is darling and giving in every way and I love her; she’s just a 38 year old skilled dorkette. Fast forward to today after wifey has voted for B-HO and hubby kept his head up his butt and we now have two very unhappy people whose insurance rates have gone up 200-300%. Teehee. Suddenly, the ‘celebrity’ hubby is thinking outside himself because his blithely democrat wife is bitching up a storm. I love them but have deep contempt for their politics and apathy. The good news is that ‘he’ is a conservative now but I just need to make sure the knucklehead votes.

Problem is is that the ones that voted for him are now getting all the free stuff so you won’t find many that are dissatisfied.

Bingo. No one wants to be told they are wrong. Our pride means too much. We are humans and sin crouches at the door.

No argument and way, way ahead of you...

Ditched all my lib ‘acquaintances’ already. I held out hope for him; he wasn’t that way before moving to the big lib city.

Last serious conversation a lib ‘friend’ wanted to have with me was over something in the news (>5-6 years ago). His wife brought up something that riled me about how she was defending the Palestinians. I shot off “Well, you know, there’s no such thing as a ‘palestinian’”...I was never tortured by another lib conversation again. Cowards.

Easy come, easy go. Good friends die, so-so ones just go away...c’est la vie.

No such thing as a ‘bad friend’; only someone that oughta grow eyes in the back of their head...

Actually, yes. I have a Boomer friend (mid-60’s) lawyer who, after leaving a company, wangled an unpaid fellowship with the State Dept last year. He had been in the FCC bureaucracy in the 1970’s and 80’s, and was a standard limousine liberal. After a year in Obama’s DC he came back to California very disillusioned. He didn’t have anything bad to say about Obama per se, but said that the whole crowd of 20- and 30-somethings that Obama brought with him and put into positions in the bureaucracy were frighteningly incompetent and self-centered. Said they were open about wanting to make lots of changes to American in their 3-4 years in gov’t, then use their influence to land a well-paying corporate job and cash in. They were making terrible decisions and no one cared. My friend is a liberal and blind to many aspects of reality, but he’s old enough to remember that it didn’t used to be this way and he really worries for the future. We’re close enough friends to where I don’t say “I told you so” - he knows without being told.

Sounds like my daughter unfortunately.
Guess I paid to much to send her to a college where they didn’t require any classes in critical thinking.

Every time I see an Obama/Biden sticker on a car I make sure I get in front. This sits about 34" off the ground on my bumper:

I know one life time democrat who voted for 0 twice. She goes to our church and a few Sundays ago, one of our members asked if we could get some undocumented democrats to cut the grass during a congregational meeting. She was taken back by the comment. I also told her she was too pretty to be a democrat.

I sent her very conservative husband some facts about the moochers latest trips and the costs to the taxpayers. I also told him to make sure he showed them to her. Those facts are not on the evening news, and she had no clue. Now she admits to making a mistake.

I would say you need to find a better class of friends. When I learn someone voted for Obama, we part company then and there. I do not say anything because they have the right to support and believe whom they please, I just no longer have anything for them.

That would be the approach I would take, if I knew any liberals. But I don't. Lucky me.
