I mean how stupid...It's like they want to destroy this country.
Probably want to get this news out on the street where foreign or domestic (including NSA/CIA, etc.) terrorists can take advantage of it.
Can I ride a horse with my single action revolver on my hip?
and can I put my .308 semi auto in a scabbard?
That’s all I ask:) I’ll handle the rest.
Amen Brother, I’ll see you up there.
I’d consider an honour to go out beside my southern brothers fighting against tyranny.
I’m posting in the dark right now ... :-) ...
Have you ever known any union or otherwise large project to come in on time or budget? Triple that time, at least for the cities and triple it again for those in outlying areas.
the ones that matter already know this.
Anything you read here and/or on the news has already been known a long time before it ever got out on the news for the general public. These aren’t state secrets and they’re not being protected as state secrets. The terrorists can get any of this information any time they want.
In other words, there absolutely nothing one could do on this thread in discussing or reading this article that would make a bit of difference as far as the terrorists are concerned.
Do away with all power, and the people living in the cities will be literally eating each other. We all saw how New Orleans rapidly devolved in just a few days after the thin veneer of civilization was stripped away.
Scoff at them all you want - but you can't now deny the wisdom of this advice...and unless you're rolling in the money - it takes time to get to self-sufficiency...
I know a guy that works for the #2 transformer building company in the world. Yes, it is rocket science, and most large transformers are custom built to spec, in contract negotiations that last years.
Tens of millions for the big ones.
“To my knowledge the only plant in North America that builds them belongs to ABB. that plant is located in Canada. “
Hyundai has one just south of Montgomery, al.
They know ;)
Why don’t they just draw a map for the terrorists to use?
*********
Yeah! And call it a *report*.
exactly what I was thinking.
I was without power for 5 days over Christmas this year - and back in the '98 "100 year Ice Storm", for 3 weeks.
My wood stove keeps me cozy warm, my kerosene lamps gave me plenty of light, I hade plenty of the right foods in the cupboard to see me through, especially for making soups, stews and chowders on the wood stove - I have e my own well water and a way to get water out when the power is off.
Many people up here can do the same - but many have to go to motels.
What part of the "Parable of the lamps" don't people understand?
By the way - if you lose power and therefore heat, and have no way to have a wood stove - here's a simple way to keep from freezing.
Have two kerosene lamps for each room....and shut off all rooms that you can. In the rooms you keep open to be in , light your lamps immediately after power goes out. It's CONSTANT HOT heat out of the chimneys. I t can keep up the heat in the room/s.
So practice the Parable of the lamps. literally. Have your lamps, extra wick, matches and plenty of lamp oil.
It's up to you.
Really. Perhaps they could name a few.
It would be grim, but the nine substation scenario would *not* black out the entire country for that long. Areas near power generation stations (or even near institutions that have their own significant generating capacity — for instance most major universities have a power plant) would be able to cut themselves off from the grid and get back power as soon as it was realized that the grid was dead.
