The report doesnt mention how old great-grandpa is. Given some of the families I've seen lately, great-grandpa could be as young as 55-60.

My maternal grandparents had about twenty to thirty grandchildren. Grandma always recognized me, but grandpa would always ask “which one are you?”

Then who will monitor the monitor’s monitor’s monitor?

Let's remember...this is Connecticut. I wouldn't be one bit surprised that the great-great is charged with kidnapping.

5 year olds should not be attending public school.

When my grandkids first see me, they climb me like kittens climb a Christmas tree. I don't think I could pick up the wrong kids. When I go pickup the Grandson at school if it's for Him getting out sick I have to go to the Office and Sign Him out, show ID and they call for Him to come from class or Nurses Office.
If it's just picking up after school, I get there early, (park in the Handicapped lot instead of sitting in the mile long line) He see it's Me and cringes because He knows that there is a very good chance His afternoon could well consist of Manual Labor after homework is done.
He can take forever to do homework if He wants to.
He is an A & B Student consistently and always has been, but boy does He HATE that labor!

There ya go.
By that age they should be in state-run interment camps for proper indoctrination.

I can’t pick up my grandson unless: 1. I am on the authorized list,2. I have ID which I must show, 3. Sign out my grandson. All this must be done under the watchful eyes of the teacher or administrator, if I can’t complete all three I can’t take my grandson.

Same safeguards are used here....I might add, only the Parent must have on record with the office, notice [written note or email or phone call]that the child will be picked up and by whom. The child isn't released unless the parent has been contacted to confirm the change of routine.

Yes same here, If my daughter or son in law don’t tell them prior to my arrival then I get to turn around and go home unless they can contact them.
