Judging by the comments after the article -- people must believe that the New Madrid quake was caused by fracking.

all powerful MAN...is screwing up The EARTH!.
these people have no idea of how massive and earthquake fault actually is and what little if any effect pumping ANYTHING in a small chunk of the ground would have.

A few decades ago, massive pumping of aquafilters
had been blame for earthquakes in the mid-west.

There can’t be any earthquake unless there is already stress built up in the rock. Nothing man can do to stress continental rock.

Residents of Oklahoma were left feeling rattled over the weekend after a strong of some 20 earthquakes as powerful as 3.5 magnitude rocked the central part of the state... What? Strong? Rocked? Apparently the author has never felt an earthquake. Based on the butchering of our written language, I would guess he was indeed "rattled" over what he thought were "strong" earthquakes "rocking" the state.

a strong of some 20 earthquakes... A 'strong' of earthquakes?
Is that the past tense of 'string'??? Present participle of 'strung'???

arthquakes as powerful as 3.5 magnitude Isn't that the same as saying "barely too small to notice"?
When I lived in Alaska you could miss a 4.5 just by doing something besides sitting still.

From the article: “One possibility is geological.”
You think???
I read this article and all the sensational breathless descriptions match exactly what we felt in NJ when there was a small quake. A loud boom, feels like windows get hit.
Do they remember that within the last (year or two?) there was a quake that rattled most of the East Coast? You get articles like this because everyone is being dumbed down about the natural world in which they live.

Makes me wonder. I don't know how close Oklahoma is to the New Madrid fault, but just think if the "unthinkable" happens:
1. The Yellowstone Caldera erupts
2. The New Madrid Fault slips
3. The San Andreas fault slips
4. The East Coast fault slips
5. The Ramapo Fault slips
all at the same time!
The United States is finished, destroyed, probably almost completely wiped out.
Little wonder the USA is not mentioned in Biblical prophesy.
