I’ll take the fried chicken and cornbread if they don’t want it. Watermelon is OK sometimes during the summer.

People are so easily offended these days.
Don’t discount the possibility that the attracts on this school actually based it it being a religious school.

What in God's name is the problem??? I'm whiter than any biped who's ever inhabited this earth and I *love* fried chicken, cornbread and watermelon.Of course the chicken isn't very good for me but man does not live by Brussels sprouts alone.

My dear old Mother used to make the best fried chicken. As a true daughter of the old South I guess it was expected.
Daddy used to grow great watermelons. They were called Padgett melons and were large round ones and really sweet.

Makes you wonder just what the students and parents would have preferred on the menu. Or is it like everything else they complain about - all complaints and no solutions?
To: nickcarraway
Whatever. I love fried chicken, cornbread and watermelon. And don’t forget collard greens and pintos. This is nothing more than old-timey SOUTHERN cuisine, both BLACK and WHITE!

“”In Silicon Valley, she added, many blacks are not even from the United States, but from around the world and may have enjoyed another cultural dish. “”
When was Concord relocated to the Silicon Valley?
What did the students and parents prefer to see on the school menu? Any ideas or just criticism?

People are getting mighty thin-skinned these days, seeing something "offensive" in almost everything.
...Students at Carondelet High School for Girls...
Is there a Carondelet School for Boys? I doubt not, but I'm sure people would only care if there was a school for boys, but not girls.....

Apparently, they forgot the grape soda.

What doofuses. Its like they live to be offended. Would anyone object to a school serving corned beef and cabbage on St. Paddy’s Day, or spaghetti and meatballs on Columbus Day?
Fried chicken, cornbread and collard greens are good eating and should produce good feelings. Watermelon might be a bit much however, due to the winter season
