Well, I did not intend to misrepresent your comment. Your comments dealt with something lacking in the woman’s life - a husband in bed with her. Now it is a gun.
I understand your point about the “destruction of the family” as a contributing cause to increase in rapes...but you focused on the victim, not the predator.
That was my only point.
Most have doorman and concierge. multiples of those depending on the number of units. My building had 2 doormen and 2 or 3 concierge type people between 7am and 10pm or so.
It shouldn’t be controversial to discuss the whereabouts of the father/husband when the mom is raped alongside her sleeping daughter. I submitted this as a question of defense.
To your point, I agree there are many legitimate reasons why daddy might not be home — it shouldn’t be necessary to avoid crime.
Thank you for your thoughtful comments.
I’d like to see states rethink the death penalty for some of these crimes. I think hanging would have a stronger effect and post it on YouTube.
Blind him. That’ll cure his raping days.
I’m not so certain. At least here in Chicago, it’s very difficult to report a crime.
True story: 2012 - There was a break in at an occupied apartment, tenant not home at the time. The tenant was told that they couldn’t give a report unless the landlord was there as the tenant didn’t own the building. A day later the landlord goes to the police station and is told that he cannot fill out a report of the crime at the station and must go back to the scene of the crime and wait for a squad. Squad is called and didn’t show up for 2 hours. Landlord went home. No crime reported. Maybe NY is less corrupt than Chicago.
