I don’t pay for TV so I would never notice. Most of out TV viewing is with Chromcast and local news over the air. $1,200 a year seems an awfully high price to pay for what can be had for free.
Would like to have another alternate weather station. Even the local channels are very limited.
It never did me any good during bad weather as I would almost always lose the satellite signal due to the bad weather.
The only good viewing on the WC is Amanda on the Prospectors.
Yeah, just checked and it’s WN AM this morning. I never watched TWC however. I always checked the weather on the internet (Accuweather) or the local radio.
To Hell with ‘em.
A relative of mine works for DirecTV. Supposedly this is a big deal, but he has got all of ONE person whining about their removal and “she sounded like a prissy feminist doofus”.
My guess? 90% of the population will not care once they get over the name change. TWC is throwing a tantrum but DTV is doing what they do very well on negotiations. Their strategy amounts to the following: to plant their feet and tell recalcitrant content providers “there are 100 other places we can get the cr@p you’ve got and we’re not paying a dime more for your non-unique, non-exclusive ‘content’ in this economy!”
Good! And DirecTV has gone dark at my house...good riddance to both.
I'm just trying to figure out a good use for the dish. I understand you can make a handy-dandy wireless antenna out of one.
I stopped watching TWC fifteen years ago. Even then, you would have to wait through 15 minutes of advertisements to get 3 minutes of weather. The only thing I wanted was the animated radar map of my local area. Now I get that on the internet in 10 seconds.
OMG! A catastrophe-—call Congress! /s
I never watch TWC. I prefer my local weather people; they’re much more accurate.
2014?
Good.
The Weather Channel is just MSLSD with storms.
Plus it's an NBC owned operation now.
Besides, once they got rid of Sharon Resultan, Heather Tesch and Nicole Mitchell...it all seemed so...pointless.
We had a tornado warning in my area of Colorado last summer and I put on the Weather Channel to see what was going on while the family was huddled in the basement and the Weather channel was showing A MOVIE!!! WTF!!! So we put on the local news and the emergency alert system gave us updates not TWC
