I’m 66 years old, I’m female and weigh 130 and have two stents in coronary arteries——I’ve had my CCW for years, but tell me, what the hell good is it going to do me if some 200 lb. teenager hits me in the head? I probably won’t be alive after the fact, and if I shoot him before the fact, I’m in George Zimnmermanville shooting an unarmed “child”. Think about this seriously folks.
If the attackers were of a different race than the victims she needs to contact the US Atty in her area immediately. Get a lawyer to do it if necessary. They’ve set the precedent in TX and they need to follow through. And her congressional representative also.
After reading the article I have to say I agree with myself, they need to take this to a higher level.
You are correct that a weapon won't necessarily save you from an attack.
Only your situational awareness will do that.
A weapon gives you a fall back/back-up position, and might save you from death.
At your age, you should know better than to go out and about in public alone./only slight sarcasm//.

The physical condition you described (slight, 66 year old woman with heart stents) suggests you wouldn’t survive a stiff breeze. You’re right: If ANY 200-pounder hit you in the head you’d likely be pushing daisies. Hence my comment about situational awareness. If you see a “200 lb. teenager” or anyone else setting up to cold cock you, you are well within your right to drop his ass, especially being who and what you are.
As for your Zimmermanville coment: He lived, and was acquitted. Yeah, they put him through thr wringer. But he won.
You have to make the decision: Would you rather be “Zimmermanned” or dead?
