Just another cop doing what cops do. Nothing to see here.
I hate to say this, but most of the time at that age, they treat a broken hip with...a wheelchair.
No matter how healthy you are, bone just doesn’t grow very quickly at that age. My grandmother’s ARM simply disintegrated at the age of 95 when she was vacuuming. They replaced that with plastic. She asked them how long THAT was going to last...!
No picture of the cop or the victim.
My first thought.....
Is it a Black cop and a white victim?
“I hate to say this, but most of the time at that age, they treat a broken hip with...a wheelchair.”
Could be much worse than that. Half of the people that age that break their hip DIE from the injury. What happens then? Murder charges?
If he dies within 1 year, that could still happen. Then again, police officers seem to be above the law, so I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Oh, yeah, it's battery. Assault and battery you dipstick ambulance chaser. I don't know about Illinois but a lot of states have added penalties for A&B on senior citizens.
Somebody needs to break the hip on the cop.Turn about is fair play.
a very high percentage of senior citizens die within 6 months of breaking a hip
if this individual dies, i would EXPECT the cop to be charged in his murder
(yea, i know... law, order, decency and logic have no place in the land of corruption)
Just about every example of police misbehavior I read about here involves a white officer.
Sad to say, but a broken hip is usually a death sentence for the elderly.
This sounds like some sort of steroid rage incident.
I can’t imagine being stupid enough to take the stuff. I read of another bizarre rage case where an off duty cop chased a guy down because he cut him off in traffic, he went into the guys house and shot him dead... steroids were involved.
I sure hope the poor old guy recovers...what a horrid thing to have happen at that advanced age :-(
Flip the coin.
If an 89 year old had pushed a 58 year old cop, even if the cop was not acting in their semi-professional capacity, resulting in a serious injury to the cop, would his (Mr. 89)have his social security check withheld during the investigation?
Or would he be on geriatric leave with full pay.

Oh wait, there must be the inevitable "We need to hear both side to this story"............
Ping. Your help is needed.
Over blown arrest? This could easily be a life ending event for the 89 year old man. A group of men need to take the cop out an horsewhip him.
That's right, the taxpayer.
The union or the cop won't pay a thin dime.
Yes, I agree, like that Chicago cop who murdered his wife, and then his girlfriend.
I always write that race comment about crime articles with no photos, hoping it will bring shame on the MSM.
Shouldn’t all the facts of the story come out?
