Got in an argument at a “Hunter's Safety” class over that.

Guy stated that, no matter the make or model, always carry six in the cylinder and the hammer COCKED!

The Game and parks officer there thanked me later for raising the point. The instructor had shot himself twice, and suggested this as a way to make sure you “knew” the gun was loaded.

Obviously the instructor was a nut case.

I will not say how because I don’t care to be sued by some nut like that one if someone shoots himself, but if you can not get a manual, need to know more quickly than sending the serial and model number to the manufacturer with the question, there is a simple way to determine if a revolver is safe to carry with one in every chamber.
