Williams is paid $11 million a year.

In general, I'd be inclined to punch anyone in the mouth who called me a MFer.
Players can take it out on each other during each play. They beat the hell out of each other all the time. A referee saying things like this is abusing his position because the whistle and stripped shirt give him protection. It is unprofessional because it questions his impartiality. If you give it back to him, you'll get flagged for a phantom hold on the next series or for unsportsmanlike conduct for abusing an official and get fined. The referee was way out of line. He has to be seen as impartial and not emotionally invested in the players or outcome. Ask yourself... Would he call Williams a MFer on the parking lot after the game?

If it impacts the game, yes he should. A referee, who is supposed to be impartial, is calling one player a MFer during the game. So, maybe he calls a hold to teach the “MFer” a lesson. Ever seen a game hinge on one call? I sure have. Ever seen a season hinge on one game? I sure have. Not the case for the Skins this year but nevertheless, the Refs have to be unemotional and professional.
The League is already getting tough to stomach with so many marginal calls changing the course of the games. If the referees seem to be choosing sides then this is the WWE or even worse... the NBA :)

What we seriously need here is a photoshop showing him running with a huge ham or turkey, maybe even a foot long from Subway.
Kinda makes me all teary-eyed as it brings back fond memories of “Refrigerator” Perry’s lunch menu. Of course, back then, if the refs called him fat - he’s take it as a badge of honor.

If true, it was a serious lapse of professional behaviour on the part of the referee.

I agree with your analysis. If this incident occurred, the ref was out of line.

Haha, I don’t think so. Did you hear Brady yelling at the official after the game ended tonight? There was an “F” and “BS” in there at full volume...
